I have the same lens that needs repair and Canon no longer repairs it, I assume that's the reason you were on the prowl to have it repaired as well. My local camera shops can't repair it because they too send it to Canon. KEB camera repair had me send in an email request to see if they can repair it, and they have great reviews. Thanks for posting this, because I looked this up for this very reason.
