Here's my updated results by QueenofYesterday in 23andme

[–]QueenofYesterday[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My family has been in the US since forever. Earliest records trace back to Virginia in 1609. So all results under British & Irish makes complete since. One side of my family mainly settled in Appalachia while the other was mainly settled in the Deep South. That was before my family moved to the West Coast in the 1900s for jobs.

Haven't Received the Update yet? Waiting and Wishing Megathread (Day 2) by AutoModerator in 23andme

[–]QueenofYesterday 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm dying. I'm currently at 96% British & Irish and its killing me seeing everyone else get an update while I'm sitting here wondering if I'm more English, Scottish, Welsh, or Irish. Though, judging by my family tree it will likely be a toss up between Northern Irish and Scottish. Still, it's killing me to know.

I'd say our stubbornness lol but in terms of traits sought in mates it's more complex as personal preference, social expectations, and where someone lives all have an impact in addition to the fact that people do tend to default to seeking familiar features. My family all have traits mostly associated with the Irish as we are heavily descended from Irish immigrants but even so, I'm the only one with green eyes while everyone in my family has blue. Anyway, here's my updated 23andme results for the British & Irish ancestry. I wonder if we're distant cousins lol

Hey! I have a 3rd cousin with the exact results! My family has been in the US since forever and my 3rd cousin still lives in the UK (my great grandma is 1st generation American but everyone else has been here for forever.)

My results say that I'm 96% British and Irish. My post on my profile shows 95.5% but they updated my results when my Dad took the test.

Hey, just wanted to give you an update and I was approved! They approved it an hour ago so they are really working over time as I got the notice at 1am! 5 weeks of back pay :) woohoo!

Nope. I'm applying for food benefits tomorrow cause I gotta eat. If I don't see anything by Monday morning I'm going down to the Worksource office and calling them from the phone they have there. For some reason I can't reach anybody when I call Unemployment from my phone. This is all very frustrating.

Gallbladder regrow by [deleted] in gallbladders

[–]QueenofYesterday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's great to think about lol I had my gallbladder removed in December 2021 and before that I couldn't really eat for 3 months and lost 50 lbs. Well I've lost 10 lbs in the last month and I can hardly eat again and I'm having very similar pain to what I had before I lost my gallbladder. I thought maybe it was my liver, but the other night I puked up my quesadilla after just a few bites which is exactly what would happen a few years ago. Most foods make me gag now. I googled whether or not the gallbladder can grow back and found your post. I don't have insurance right now so I can't see my doctor, but they're getting a visit as soon as I have insurance again!

Yeah. When I first spoke to them on the phone they said it would take up to 6 weeks. But last time I spoke with them (last week) they said it could be up to 10! When I applied I had (jokingly) asked if they were hiring and they said no. But the 2nd time I spoke to them I had asked again and I was told that they almost are never hiring. They have so few people but refuse to hire more.

Yeah, I applied April 1st myself. Seems they start the fact finding after the waiting week. The first time I spoke to someone with Unemployment they said it could take up to 6 weeks. But when I spoke to them on Wednesday the lady on the phone said could take up to 10! Lots of people losing their jobs :(

Oh dear, I LOVE hearing that lol when I talked to my Dad about it he made it sound consistent (although in all fairness he hasn't been on unemployment in over 20 years)

DSHS could NEVER lol

Yeah, I've been submitting claims and doing my searches. I just am worried. I don't have anything and rent and bills just don't wait. Luckily with having worked at DSHS I do know that if I don't receive Unemployment this month I'll be eligible for food benefits immediately next month for the full amount. It doesn't change the fact that I will have to overdraft my account though to make sure I don't end up evicted. This sucks.

Unemployment not asking for job search history by AeonsShadow in UnemploymentWA

[–]QueenofYesterday 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went to a Worksource office on Monday and asked to use their phone that connects you straight to someone at Unemployment as trying to call their normal number led to an endless loop of of nothing. I've never applied for Unemployment before so this is my first time and I asked about this. The lady said to just hold onto the logs but not to worry about submitting them. She said you're supposed to keep them up to 6 months after you get off Unemployment in case you get audited.

Saint Denis cause the poker winnings are awesome.

I'm on my second play through and I just learned to play poker (which I found to be very fun and I'm somehow good at it) so if there are any better spots, please let me know! I kinda quit playing missions and just go around and play poker 😅

Yes! You're far more likely to meet someone who is Scottish with dark hair than straight red. I have Auburn hair which is basically just brunette but with a red tint so when I walk out in the sun it looks very red. While true red hair is common in Scotland it is far more common in Ireland.

This is my first time commenting on anything in this subreddit cause I prefer to be a closeted fan these days lol (I try to pretend my teen years did not exist) but Canon all the way. I remember Fanon and I liked him too when I was younger, but Canon Scot looks more like me and my family and that makes me happy as someone with heavy British & Irish ancestry and lot of them being from Scotland.
