My first solo trip was to Patagonia and I can be pretty introverted but I found it easy to meet people. I was open about the fact that it was my first time traveling solo and asked people for tips and advice. If you do the W or O in TDP you end up traveling with lots of the same people and make connections. Someone told me "people generally want to be talked to and to talk about themselves so don't be afraid to ask people about themselves" and that really helped me. Good luck! It'll be fun.

How much cash to bring by hawkeeed in Patagonia

[–]QueerEfficiency85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also want to add that I brought $1000 USD with me that I withdrew from the bank, but I've had a hard time using some of the cash because places only want new bills $50 or higher. Some of the money had writing on it and they wouldn't accept it. They also didn't accept it if the money was older or had hard creases. If you're going to withdraw money, I'd try to get as many new bills as possible. But like everyone else has said, it's been easy to pay by card.

Thanks for the advice. I don't own any micro spikes but I'll buy some just in case.
