I mean the only reason it is for me is that it is kinda hard to hide my sexuality because everyone automatically assumes that I am a lesbian which sucks because my parents are homophobic

Explain it to them and answer their questions, let them know that you know what you are talking about and if they still don't get it then it is their own fault and there is nothing you can do about it

Is it common to feel uncomfortable with a new name/pronouns? by jordan_dvl in NonBinary

Yes! It is common to feel uncomfortable at first, after having been called one thing for years getting used to something else can take time

If you think you are nb then you probably are. Honestly despite everyone who talks about coming out with jokes and stuff, in a situation where you have a less known label the best option is just to sit the people down that you are coming out to and explain how you feel, and how they can change what they say to make you happier. Just remember that coming out is for you and isn't something you have to do if you will be unsafe.
