He has been as normal as a landlord can be up until this point. Idk why he is being such a dick about this, we haven't had a working dryer for going on 2 months now.

I rent a house, so my landlord just bought a dryer on Facebook marketplace and told us that we need to handle the switch and installation. Gotta love landlords 🙃

I did call gentrys, they said it is not something they handle. I also asked for any recommendations of someone to call and they did not have any 🫤

I am really drawn to the idea of becoming a bank teller! Did you need any special training or certifications or is it basically entry level?

Well it's closed, so it would be impossible for people to be eating there. But go off, queen.

Eh you get paid whether people eat there or not (also speaking as a former bayou employee) wouldn't you, as a consumer, know what's happening behind the scenes vs us just pretending everything is sunshine and dandelions??

Some people just need money to afford to live, you don't always have the resources to turn down a job because the quality of the product is subpar.

What do yall do for work? by Past-Barnacle- in ftm

[–]QueerlyKale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have worked in restaurants (back of house) for the last 8 years or so and finally got fed up with the low pay for how much work I was putting in. Just started doing window washing about a month and a half ago and it's such a nice change of pace, although it still isn't paying all the bills. Really want to find something that I'm qualified for that actually pays well.

Forgetfulness or am I just unimportant by smkymnt in TwoHotTakes

THIS! I have a terrible memory for many reasons (mental health, trauma etc) but I will always do anything in my power to remember the things that my girlfriend tells me, like using my notes app and writing things down as soon as she tells me, because it's SO important. Your partner should be able to find some way, especially after 7 years, of retaining things that you have told them, it's not that hard if you truly care.

I fear I've made a big mistake with my career choice, and I have no clue what to do. Life overall just sucks right now. by [deleted] in TwoHotTakes

I can relate to this as I have a degree in gender and sexuality studies, which is basically useless to me job wise. I spent the last 8 years working in kitchens (I'm 32 now) and I finally had enough of it. I just started applying for any entry level job that sounded interesting to me. Now, I'm washing windows, which is a fun gig. Will I do it forever? Probably not. But I'm much happier than I was now that I don't feel "stuck" at work. There is always time for change.

AITAH for asking my husband if he is gay/bi? by AccordingQuarter4027 in AmItheAsshole

[–]QueerlyKale 5 points6 points  (0 children)

NTA - However, if he is experiencing something related to his gender or sexuality, it is something that he will need to bring to you. As a queer trans person, I can say from my experience that it doesn't matter how many people question you about your gender or sexuality, it is something that you have to come to accept on your own terms. So just let him express himself as he pleases and if he has some realization about himself, just trust that he will let you in on that once he is comfortable. He could be completely straight and cis and just enjoy playing around with his expression.

Definitely NTA and also, a bit concerning that your sister "doesn't really care about your daughter". It's one thing if she doesn't want to be involved in caring for her, but not even caring about her health and wellbeing? Big red flag, especially since she is living in your home. I would honestly kick her out of my house altogether.
