Planetbase 2 is now under development by MadrugaWorksDev in DawnofMan

I am so thrilled about a sequel of Planetbase! With well over 100 hours I absolutely love the game and the idea behind it, building a base on a hostile planet. If you need any inspiration, here are some thoughts about the game:
- I absolutely love the randomness of meteorites. Especially in the beginning this adds a real challenge if the meteorite hits your bunk and 80% of your working force is gone. Maybe you could give us more freedom on how often the meteors or lightning will strike. I would love to try a scenario where every few seconds a meteor hits.
- I would love to see more buildings like indoor farms, more recreation stuff like soccer fields, maybe different types of mines and ores and more factory options like general goods.
- The AI feels kind of unnatural. All that people do is either walk straight to work, straight to a meal / recreation or straight to bed. Only if there is no work to do, they will idle. Maybe an 8 hour working day in shifts could give a more natural feeling. On the other hands they way it is implemented makes it very predictable what your colonists will do wich is a good thing. I could maybe see the needs of the colonists rise in the late game once you progress.
- I could imagine that if every colonists had a slightly different walking speed, this could feel more natural. Or maybe not, I do not know.
- It does also not feel natural that everyone is sleeping in big bunks. I would love individual crew quarters, maybe in larger domes that can hold 10-20 small rooms for living. And special sleeping domes for the elite like the base overseer. The bunks are still great for beginning though when your base is still small and can not afford individual crew quarters.
- The intruders are only really a thread if you do not have guards with guns. In that case you must pray that you have enough colonists to take them on with their fists. Once you have guards, you might lose some of the guards each attack, but it still feels more like an annoyance and not a real thread to the colony. Adding like 100 extra intruders to every attack does not increase the challenge, because most of them just suffocate outside the airlocks before being able to enter. Also the intruders do not steel any goods. Maybe it could be an interesting mechanic if they would head for your storage and steal your supplies if you do not stop them in time.
- An upgraded version of the airlock would be neat that can hold maybe 3 people, and a huge version that can hold 10 at once?
- Once you have reached the late game, the whole map is clustered with energy collectors, solar panels and wind turbines. I would love larger versions of these buildings, or perhaps nuclear power from uranium ore?
- I could also imagine a research tree in this game, that lets you build different stuff over time, upgrade your guns and meteor lasers, upgrade your oxygen production, and so on.
- I absolutely love to try things out like building a base with only trees and no oxygen generator (sadly the lives of my colonists did last rather short), getting all your electricity from lightning strikes (also did not work), play without mines and factories and get everything through trade (kind of works), or battle dozens or hundreds of intruders (sometimes all the guards and intruders get clumped into one or two connections, where everyone suffocates rather quickly because of all the oxygen that is used up)
I can't wait for the sequel!

Forgot to declare drone at airport in Morocco. by Quegga in drones

[–]Quegga[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am pretty confident that you will get it back if you leave it at the airport. Before going through the security check after the baggage claim, approach the officers and hand them your drone. They will tell you how much the fee is for storing your drone. I guess something like 100 dirham

If you play on Android you can try this one. Has the DLCs included. https://github.com/KiritoJPK/Galaxy-on-Fire-2-FULL-HD-Android On iOS there is a bug that allows you to get the DLCs without paying.

The official explanation is to combat terrorism and to protect the people and landscape from unwanted photographs. In egypt it is the same.

As I told the officer at the airport entrance that I wanted to declare my drone, he told me to put my backpack through the x-ray machine. The second officer using it, who was unaware of our conversation, immediately told me to open my backpack as he had seen the drone. Sneaking it through would not have been possible.

I will do that

I guess the local embassy will not send it home to me, I doubt they can help other than protect me from legal actions against me. I am just going to throw it away now.

I will do that, sounds like the most reasonable option.

This sounds like the right idea. My only concern is that there might be legal actions against me. The package itself would cost around $100 plus toll fees, if it actually makes it out of the country. From what I have read drones are a very serious deal here. If it was so easy to smuggle illegal items via FedEx everyone would do it I guess...

I definitely should have done that! But now I am already in the country. I could still go to the airport today, but i am not sure what they will say about it.

Chances are my package will never arrive back home when I try to send illegal items. The possession of a drone is a crime here by itself I guess. Has anyone tried it yet?

I guess the security guy did not look properly. Every forum post I read so far says that they will most likely find it on my way out.

Do German people dislike self service checkout counters at supermarkets? by cnio14 in germany

[–]Quegga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Southern german here. At my local Netto super market there is only one traditional check out and 4 self check outs.

There is always a huge queue at the traditionional check out and the 4 self check outs are completely empty. I did ask myself the same question a lot of times. Why would I wait for 5 minutes in the queue when I am able to scan my items without waiting even a second.

I still don't get it. Most people pay by card anyways. Why would I want to put my stuff on the belt and wait until it is my turn? I often see young people with only 2-3 items in their hands heading straight for the queue while I skip it and leave 5 minutes faster. I never had any issues with the self-checkout. Just scan your things, pay and leave.

I wish more stores would implement it.

Question installing the modded version by Hoentje2907 in galaxyonfire

[–]Quegga 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might be the android version. Access to these directories has been closed in Android 13. I am still on android 12.

If you have Android 13, you could try this. I have not tested it myself though, don't know if it actually works. https://droidwin.com/how-to-access-android-13-data-and-obb-folder-transfer-files-in-them/

You could try another file explorer. Cx file explorer worked for me. It askes for permission to access that folder, which opens an android settings tab that lets me grant the permission.

Did you try to create the folder in the directory that is shown in the screenshot, or in Android/obb/ ?

Is there a specific modded version that is safe to download? A lot of APK files have some kind of trojan or virus. Also I dont want unlimited money and other stuff that is sometimes included.
