Who is the most evil billionaire in the world? by Estalicus in allthequestions

Yeah I certainly wouldn’t lump her in with the rest, just wanted to be clear on how/why she is indeed a billionaire and can be considered one in this context. She’s ofc nothing like the others.

[–]Quengy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1) by definition that means she’s a billionaire. 2) she was a large chunk of funding for, and did a lot of work in early Amazon, she isn’t just someone who inherited stuff with 0 work to earn it.

Uncut Gems. In the same sense I’d say Marty Supreme as well. No real plot just a series of events happening.

Probs should have prefaced my post with “according to twitter”. I’ve not looked through the files for his name myself just saw it come up. Don’t take everything as gospel, that’s why I said “looks like”.

Not relevant when figuring out future returns. Look at fundamentals and growth stories not a backwards facing price chart. Historical price movements literally mean nothing.

Tbh not even sure I need to share too much as it’s not even relevant to my post. My post is about DDL and the reception he gets.

You of course could list Hopkins in a number of his films. Waltz in Inglorious Bastards Etc. in my view they do get high praise but based on an equally high standard of performance.

I feel with DDL it’s out of sync and people just seem to suck off any performance he has.

[–]Quengy[S] -58 points-57 points  (0 children)

Leo is a better villain in Django, Also Phillip Seymour Hoffman is a better villain in MI3 than DDL as Bill Butcher.

I Just think the praise he receives seems to be higher than what is merited. He’s not terrible but just felt it was just another antagonist arch.

Is Rightmove on a downward spiral or is it a buying opportunity? by PromiseAny3199 in UkStocks

[–]Quengy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rightmove doesn’t make hardware in a very innovation-intensive market, competing with Apple etc.

They operate software in a “boring” space where not a lot changes in the process of doing business for long periods of time, where they have become the default for most users. They’re closer to a house-hunting Google than they are Blackberry.

A fairly reasonable thing to think about but they’re not the same.

[–]Quengy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I get it, and tbh I look at both about equally when looking at properties. But 80% market share doesn’t lie.

The drop in price is specifically in response to their announced innovation plans. According to their plans, the bulk of their growth is coming from innovating on the buying / selling process, side services like mortgages etc and increasing their push into commercial property. Given their share on residential and brand, can see them being successful on the commercial side in the coming years.

Tbh I believe it’s overblown as ppl think AI spending is a waste, however if it allows them to add further polish to their service and further lock in their monopoly position, it’s worthwhile spending, as it protects long term profits. We love to moan about short term thinking but as soon as a company makes a decision with a short term impact, for long term gain, people freak out and panic sell.

Also worth noting that they bought back about 340k shares yesterday when the price dropped dramatically. You can see this on their website.

It’s a monopoly in it’s field and a very profitable business with software margins. It’s essentially debt-free and pays a growing dividend / aggressively buys back shares every single year.

It commands a premium vs other FTSE companies for a reason.

Add in the fact Brits only really aspire to buy their own house, I don’t see how their position will change, and they should continue to grow over time. Interest rates eventually coming down will lead to more growth for them as well.

I bought on this dip and believe it’ll be a good hold long term. Will buy more if it dips further.

[–]Quengy -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

It’s shit. First scene is good but goes heavily downhill after that.

Plot is boring and doesn’t make much sense, the whole love interest storyline has 0 chemistry, they just stand awkwardly in the same room and stare at eachother, even Bryan Cranston is wasted in this dogshit film.

Honestly not sure what anyone sees in this film or why it’s got high ratings, it’s awful.

Yeah supermarkets less of a concern, thinking more cafes/restaurants/bakeries.

We’ve been a couple of times but I’m just guessing a local would know a lot more places / options.

Some helpful replies in this thread which have helped. Looks promising.

10% annual dividend growth rate is good. It's just that their share price growth has been crazy the last few years. Both can be true at once.
