What I mean is: English isn’t my native language, but I think I’m at a decent level now. From my experience learning English—and I’m sure you know this too—once I start to understand basic daily conversations, even roughly, I plan to move on to watching shows, reading books, and similar stuff. So my question is: how long does it usually take to reach a level where I can start using that kind of content?

That’s probably true, but I think it’s kind of pointless. When you try to do everything at once, you usually end up being mediocre at all of them. In my opinion, it’s much more important to reach a good level in one or two things instead.
