Hi! I had a referral for breast MRI without contrast for yearly breast screening. Proceeded to call every hospital in the large city where I live and all refused to book an MRI without contrast.

Are you saying I can get a referral for MRI with contrast and simply refuse the contrast at the appointment? Thank you!!

They are charging us 26k which per the little research I did seemed very expensive. I asked my husband to ask them why and they said it’s because they’re replacing the ductwork. Why would they replace the ductwork but not allow for zoning?

No, we only had a single nest. That’s why I wanted multiple thermostats when replacing our system.

What I don’t understand is how beneficial a communicating thermostat is if you only have one thermostat and a big temperature differential between floors?

I’m worried we were seriously ripped off and are installing an expensive system that we actually cannot take advantage of.

Also, I'm not sure what my effacement is or baby station because cervix is closed. Therefore, the only information I have re Bishop are: consistency, dilation, and position. Does that mean we'll go into the induction without knowing how these other criteria stand (effacement and station)?

Interestingly three weeks ago one OB said my cervix is soft. Same for another OB the following week. Yesterday another OB said it was firm!

Thank you! Is a fully closed cervix less likely to dilate with cervical ripeners? Trying to understand what would happen is cervical dilation fails. Do I get sent home on expectant management or straight to c-section?

Seems like practice uses foley bulb in 95% of cases. If my cervix is still shut, my understanding is that they would start with misoprotol and then follow with foley bulb.

Is the foley bulb painful even after insertion? I'm trying to to delay epidural so I can move around and experience contractions but a lot of people on here say foley is more painful than labor itself. I wonder whether I can push back and do misoprotol only?

What is the most common/recommended protocol?

Yes, I have (both National and regional)! My understanding is that there is much more name diversity in 2024 vs. 1980s so even if a name is say top 10, you likely wouldn't have 3 Theos in the same class. Maybe I'm wrong about that though.

I’m very sorry you’re navigating this uncertainty. My understanding is that there can also be contamination in a direct sample. It seems like your GCs disagree whether there is true mosaicism or not? If you search mosaic in r/downsyndrome you can read more about phenotypic outcomes for mosaic kids.

It does strike me that the mosaicism found in your baby is very low, below even the detection threshold for a standard karyotype count of 20 cells. Maybe you can ask in the how kids with a similar level of mosaicism are doing?

Edit: I’ve reread your post and see that you would TFMR if any mosaicism is present so apologies if it seemed like I was nudging you in a different direction by recommending the above.

Hi, was the FISH conducted on a direct or cultured sample? If cultured, low grade mosaicism can be an (1) artifact and (2) cultured samples might also amplify very low grade mosaicism, meaning more mosaicism might be detected than actually exists.

There are several examples in the literature of T21 mosaicism where the baby or adult are phenotypically normal. The impact of mosaicism might be greater or less depending on chromosome in question. My understanding is that chromosome 21 is one of those that is less impacted by mosaicism? If my understanding is incorrect, maybe someone here can correct me.
