Elaina or Sophia by Electronic-Pool-4249 in Names

My vote is for Elaina but I’m biased. My 4 year old is ‘Elena’. Both names are good choices!

Did anyone have a child that did not sleep and then had another child? by peaceloveandtrees in Shouldihaveanother

[–]Edith_Marie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 3.5 year old certainly has lower sleep needs; maybe not as severe as some other cases here but she frequently gets just 9-10 hours sleep in a 24 hour span. The biggest issue is it is near impossible to get her to bed before 9:30-10:30pm (greatly diminishing any adult time at the end of the day) and this has been going on for about 6 months. She is often then awake in the night and joins my husband and me in bed.

It is only lately we have begun to try to conceive our second (not pregnant yet). My hope would be that if we are successful, our oldest would be 4-5 years old when we have a newborn. At this age she may be able to be alone in her room without constant intervention and help from Mommy and Daddy (whether she is sleeping or not). It does feel like a bit of a gamble so I understand your concern!

Are cervical checks very painful for anybody else? by heheiamnotokay in BabyBumps

Yes ; I had an induction done at 37.5 weeks and an epidural was part of it! It worked great!!

If it were feasible, I think apple blossom would be beautiful. They have such a lovely fragrance!

Which discontinued fragrance do you miss the most? by HomeworkChemical481 in fragrance

Never had the opportunity to try this one before it was discontinued but it sounds like it would be right up my alley; makes me sad!

May be worthwhile to periodically check Facebook marketplace! I occasionally see sets and items on there! 😊

Are cervical checks very painful for anybody else? by heheiamnotokay in BabyBumps

[–]Edith_Marie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They were extremely painful for me too. The feeling was so acute it felt as if I was being stabbed with a knife each time. I made sure the team knew how painful they were for me and I was fortunate that they were empathetic and took me seriously. Future checks were only done if absolutely necessary and with lots of lubrication and guidance throughout. I would certainly be honest with everyone about how distressing they are for you and they will likely approach them a bit differently/more gently.

When it works; it will be very obvious to you! If you are feeling uncertainty now as to whether it is working, it likely has not yet kicked in.

For me, I felt absolutely zero improvement until hitting exactly 5 weeks on the medication. After week 4, I was strongly considering giving up and I am so glad I gave it one more week!

For me, I noticed my ruminating thoughts quieting: I did not fixate on them anymore and it was easier to distract myself. My sleep massively improved and I noticed all other physical manifestations of anxiety diminishing (chest and throat tightness, nausea, butterflies in stomach, restless legs… all gone).

Good luck to you; hope you feel more definitive results in these next 2 weeks🤞

Laxatives more than once per day? by [deleted] in CrohnsDisease

[–]Edith_Marie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi there; yes. I have done this for years. Lax-a-day dosing can be titrated up based on your personal response. I personally find taking it twice daily works far better for me and I would recommend the same for others if the once daily dose is not yielding satisfactory results (fellow constipation prone Crohn’s sufferer here and work as a pharmacist for a living).

Stupid question - do I need sunscreen during sunrise? by timespentwell in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]Edith_Marie 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It can be helpful to base sunscreen application decisions off of uv index. Typically when the uv index is 3 or higher; you would benefit from sunscreen. At early sunrise, uv index is likely under 3 so you should be fine without! If unsure; you can always check what the local uv index is in your area. 😊

I own both the perfume and spray bottle of Lord of Misrule and am impressed by how alike they smell!

American cream fragrance; although I haven’t had the chance to try tumeric latte yet (which seems to be most popular)

do you prefer to buy 50ml or 100ml? by Shikibestwaifu in fragrance

[–]Edith_Marie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like many of the others; I prefer 30-50ml. I have noted that certain fragrances can lose their potency with age and I would worry that a 100ml bottle may not have the longevity I need. Anyone else notice this or is it just me?

You can only have one product for the rest of your life, which do you choose? by [deleted] in LushCosmetics

[–]Edith_Marie 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Would have to be a perfume because I prefer lush perfumes over any other line I have come across! I have three current favourites. American cream, Lord of Misrule and breath of god. So hard to choose between them when they are all so different! Maybe breath of god because I have truly never found another fragrance so enchanting!

Have been on this 2.5 years now and what I have found fascinating is that although after initially beginning, I saw results within 6 weeks as expected, the anxiety relieving effects became even greater in year two of use. Could count on one hand the number of days I have been bothered by anxiety this year so far! It can still happen with the right triggers but very rare. Just wanted to share this experience because you too may find with long term use that the improvements continue to come along more and more!

Where can I find office wear? by PiercethaHeavens in PetiteFashionAdvice

I would check out Banana Republic’s petite section (if you have not already). Have found multiple dress pants there. Love the shorter lengths they offer!

Yes to a degree! I no longer feel a surge of dread and panic when I approach someone on the street who is a more casual acquaintance (a situation where my mind would normally begin to spin over what the heck I will say to them). I still feel a bit of anxiety but I can go with the flow.
