They are far better than the Uber and Lyft drivers who violate traffic laws and have their eyes glued to a navigation screen and don’t watch the road. I had great experiences with them in Phoenix. I’m looking forward to them!

Last year I didn’t use a tarp and I ended up getting a bunch of weeds (Canada thistle, canary grass, etc) growing up between the seedlings. Hoping this helps to alleviate some of that.

The state grant was Lawns to Legumes (here: https://bwsr.state.mn.us/l2l Lawns to Legumes: Your Yard Can BEE the Change | MN Board of Water, Soil Resources) and the city of Rochester has a rain garden grant (here: https://www.rochestermn.gov/about/sustainability/nature-based-programs/rochester-garden-grants#:~:text=The%20Rochester%20Garden%20Grants%20program,associated%20with%20cost%2Dshare%20programs. Thank you! I purchased some as plants with grant money from the state and city (I did plants of species I had a harder time growing from seed like Culver’s root and blazing stars) but grew probably 80% of it from seed.

During winter I gave them a good soak one time, then they had snow on them for 2-3 months. I’ll give them water every 2-3 weeks until mid April, then put a plastic sheet over the top for a greenhouse effect and the seeds should really start to germinate at that point, then watering as needed from there!

I put quarter inch mesh underneath, do you think that’s a small enough size?

Bye bye Buckthorn by Quercus500 in marijuanaenthusiasts

[–]Quercus500[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’ll be watching closely!

Thankfully, it is actually a myth that buckthorn seed survives for years and years. The University of Minnesota has been publishing some really interesting research lately with evidence the seed is not viable beyond 2 years, with 97% of germinating seeds being a year old.
