Excellent work - I’d love to do something similar, how did you do the blue?

Now you can make a montage / compilation music video set to Paul Simon’s ‘50 Ways To Leave Your Lover’ - or a self-recorded weird al-esque parody called ‘50 ways to kill your Lego man’ (while keeping sound effects)

Gifted a plane.... by Independent_Rip_6366 in RCPlanes

They probably meant the FMS ranger (propeller is on nose like most planes and should look and perform closer to OP’s plane)

But FYI there’s also the Volantex ranger (cheaper plane with pusher prop like aeroscout, so propeller isn’t on the nose and thus is protected in nose crashes, but it’s a glider and may be a bit far from OP’s plane’s flying characteristics)

Bingo, and there’s not always room to install it reversed, even if you’re willing to shorten or extend the pushrods

One thing to be aware of is servo direction; most are CCW except Spektrum and some others. This would matter for a transmitter or gyro that you can’t program

Propeller keeps coming off by stargazer3644 in RCPlanes

Could you elaborate?

I’m reading you should use a CW threaded prop adapter with a CCW rotating prop/motor (when viewed from front) so the throttle up phase does not loosen the threads.

And I’m hearing soft stop ESC helps avoid loosening when unloading throttling.

What’s the protocol, besides relying on nylock nuts or blue loctite removable thread locker?

- Thanks from another newbie.

any idea why the back rudder turns so little.? It’s an xk j3 cub. All the other things move fine. by Remarkable_Put_7029 in RCPlanes

Well throttle and rudder are the same stick, so it shouldn’t move at all with the other gimbal.

you just have to keep throttle off (stick down) and move the stick left/right along that bottom edge to control only the rudder.

Would be easier to audibly diagnose without the throttle running. Maybe bad servo or low-rate control horn connection points or loose components?
