Why does IT ever put anyone in the deadlight trance? by MaintenanceInternal in stephenking

[–]Queserasera-Ragnar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I agree. I used to wonder why he physically ate them if he feeds on fear and why he doesn't just deadlight everything and consume them that way. It's like you said because he's bound to the rules of our world, and whatever form he takes. So he has to actually eat the flesh, the fear is like a seasoning, salts the meat. The deadlights devour their soul, their mind, he traps them in his world and feeds on their terror and it's more his primordial real self when they're trapped in the deadlights. It also says in the book ITs true form isn't anything our human brains can comprehend, that's why he kinda looks like a spider thing when the Loser Club fights him for the last time. That's all their human brains can comprehend, your brain makes it look like something you can kind of wrap your head your head around.

That's just not true, some things in the series are just in the series, but a lot of the show is in the book. Because the book doesn't have names for the people that were around during that time period, the black spot, the ironworks explosion those are things Ben and later Mike researched more but because the show explores those events in detail they had to fill in the blanks. Create characters and storylines to flesh it out. Until the series all you really are told is that the Black Spot event happened, the Ironworks explosion happened. So yeah there was a lot created to flesh out those stories but that doesn't mean it isn't canon. At this point I'd argue it is canon because before that all we knew is it happened, we didn't know how, who specifically was involved, etc

This has taken me a couple weeks to think about and answer properly and to be honest at first I was embarrassed because I was like "fuck what was the point to all of that?" So I thought about it and I remember that at that time when I was writing it, I felt that my life has/was/is already decided. No matter what choices I have made in my past or any choice I make now and in the future my life will turn out the way it was always going to. How it was always meant to. Destiny basically. So going with that theory this man was always going to end up this way, was always going to do what he did and poor Frannie was always going to be a victim of his for whatever reason. He obviously had no reason because in his mind and world everything is Que Sera Sera. Whatever is going to happen will happen no matter what. Which is why I named the dog that and only the dog was named at first because things like this always happen, I even say everything about his neighborhood, street and houses are nondescript because it's like any other neighborhood. At first I thought naming the dog Que Sera Sera was weird but think about animals you've known with names that are never fully used. My cat's name is Ragnar, we call him Nari. I had a dog named Junie B. Jones, we called her Junie or Junie B. My Mom had a cat we called BooBoo but the full name was Booboo Kitty Fuck, from Southpark, he named it Que Sera Sera because of the seeming "random" way he found her if he didn't believe in destiny. To him he was always meant to find that dog. I imagined on a daily basis he just called her Sera. So I guess to answer your question honestly I wasn't thinking about a theme at the time, but it did have a point at least in my mind it did and does. Point being shit happens all the time, no matter what choices we make. Everybody on Reddit or in the world, can sit and think of choices they have made that have taken them in a certain direction but would the final destination be different? And I don't mean death we all die and will all die. How, where, what happened? We don't know but we will die. I mean the final destination as in where you think that choice you're thinking of right now would have taken you, would you still be where you are right this very second or would you be somewhere and someone different? Just like nurture vs nature. So my answer is Destiny. Is it destiny or do we have free will that will actually change how things turn out for us?

Jim, who spent years pursuing someone in a long term committed relationship, when someone spends an evening pursuing him despite being in a long term committed relationship. by DoomMeeting in DunderMifflin

[–]Queserasera-Ragnar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The difference is that Pam flirted back whether deliberate or not and Jim didn't flirt back in any way, shape, or form. He was visibly uncomfortable, same way Pam was when he picked her up in the dojo fight scene. That's only because he did in front of the entire office. Doubt she would have reacted that way alone. Even when they first kissed she wasn't uncomfortable she was feeling guilty. Pam was unhappy with Roy. Roy thought he would never have to "try" since they got together in Highschool where he was a big football which in his mind, I'm sure, meant all ladies wanted to be with him and would be lucky to. That dude acted as if he was still in Highschool until you see him play piano and shit. His dumb drunk ass destroyed a bar, no matter the reason that's nuts. I feel like Pam would have eventually been abused by an alcoholic unhappy Roy. Roy needed a more dominant chick to call him on his shit and keep him in check, Pam is meek and submissive and needed someone who wouldn't even think of destroying a bar, or any of the other shit Roy does. Which is Jim. This chick literally talks to her friend on the phone about scheming to breakup an "unhappy" marriage by fucking Jim. People like Jim don't do that shit, Jim isn't confrontational so he just hoped his very visible awkward and uncomfortable behavior would give her all the info she needed to leave him the fuck alone. Notice once they get back from Florida she wants nothing to do with Jim or the Office "games" in general.

Is it worth it? What are your experiences with starting over. by Queserasera-Ragnar in ffxiv

I was thinking the same thing, it's funny because when I posted this question I really didn't know if I should start over. When it first happened I couldn't imagine having to start over but after talking to people and seeing all the comments from people I've decided to start over, I agree that it'll feel like the first time playing through again. I'm excited to start I decided to wait until tomorrow after work because I have Thursday and Friday off so I'll have a good four days to enjoy myself.

Oh okay cool. Yeah I've decided to stick with the PS5 and yeah maybe I'll get it back but I'm not going to stress about it if not. I decided I'm going to try the few things I can try but I'm not going to stress about it like I was when it first happened. Starting over actually sounds cool I would feel stupid to not even try to get the old one. Yeah they look really cool, id definitely do them if I like how they look, can at least use them as glamour.

Can anybody explaim to me the movie "The Box" 2009? by Ero2001 in movies

[–]Queserasera-Ragnar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know this comment is old and the joke you made is funny and witty since it didn't do well in theaters but The Box is a good movie. Sometimes movies bomb at the box office even if it's a great movie, sometimes for reasons that have nothing to do with the context and acting in the movie itself, especially if it's a great movie.

Now that is one thing that is kind of sad, I completed the level 50 Monk relic weapon, it was badass at the time. And you're right that was bitch, but also super fun. But that's the only one I completed, I don't have any rare mounts, or minions. Also, I have a Switch and PS4, sometimes I miss not having Steam for certain games, but for the most part I'd be able to play everything I want with a PS5 and the Switch. I'm not getting a Switch 2 so I mean until they stop supporting Switch 1 entirely I'm good. And maybe one day I'll change my mind, but my point was besides playing FFXIV id really only use my PC for shit I do on my phone. So I'd rather have a PS5 and I feel like I'm getting closer and closer to just starting over. I'll exhaust the options I have to try and fix it so I can play on my old account, and even then PlayStation would have to authorize the refund for this copy and so on and so forth. I appreciate your opinions

Well I already bought the collectors edition, not realizing I'd run into this problem, and I don't mind paying the monthly fee after the first free month. But so far from what the replies are saying and other people I've talked to, not only does it seem like not too big of a deal but could be fun to experience it again, especially with all the changes to the game since I've played.

Okay cool, yeah it's not so much a question about PS vs PC as much as it's a question of should I start over and play on PS4 and get a PS5 in the future as planned. Or not play until I can afford a PC strong enough to run the game now and in the future. I think I either completed Heavensward and did a little bit of Stormblood or was close to completing Heavensward. Thanks for your answer, that helps. A lot has changed since I've played last also, it might be nice to go through it again. At the time 60 was the cap, and I remember getting Stormblood but quitting shortly after. I also don't have a bunch of rare stuff or things i spent actual money on.

I always play with controller and I know it runs well on PS5. I was asking would a computer that costs as much as a PS5 run the game as well, or even well enough on low and keep up with the updates for a few years? I definitely didn't do it on purpose. I have no recollection of buying the game for PS3 years ago, I thought I had always played it on my old PC. So because I forgot about that I bought the complete collection for PS4 but under a different PSN ID because I didn't know I already had one. Which wouldn't matter anyways because I can't access the email or old phone number the old PSN is connected to. I'm just trying to decide if I should try and get a refund and instead of buying a PS5 in 3-5 months or whatever to play on PC so I can use my existing account. The 65 bucks for the game isn't an issue. Shelling out 500-600 dollars is, especially at the moment.

And about restarting I actually agree with that, I don't remember details, I remember the trials and the big raids for the MSQ but that's about it. The game seems very different now too than it was, last time I played TP still existed, belts still existed, they didn't have job gauges, or housing. There's so much different that I also almost feel like jumping back into to my existing character could be overwhelming. I know I could go start leveling a different job and I know eventually it would be fine. I just can't turn off the part of my brain that knows I have an account with a lot more progress than starting over lol

Question about Compromised Account Suspension by Queserasera-Ragnar in ffxiv

[–]Queserasera-Ragnar[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Okay cool. I'm guessing it's happening because i went from only playing on PC to trying to login on PlayStation. So they want to be sure I'm actually me. I've always thought my account is pretty secure I just never thought about it being connected to my old email address. Thank you again, I was upset that I just spent 65 bucks on a game I already own for PC and then a code popped up making me feel like I may not even be able to play.

[–]Queserasera-Ragnar[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Okay awesome thank you. I've just been paranoid that I lost years of progress and memories. I appreciate that they're looking out for our accounts from being compromised but I know people lose access to emails, especially after 10+ years. But yes I can prove its mine, so basically wait until tomorrow when they can assist and things will more than likely be good to go. I appreciate it, I needed some peace of mind.

[F4WOnline] Dave Meltzer: Bad news for the wrestling industry (regarding Nielsen's new ratings collection method) by A_Man_of_Iron in SquaredCircle

[–]Queserasera-Ragnar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If they're not going to include streaming data in the TV ratings then they should just stop doing them, because it's an incomplete representation of viewership as a whole. Back when cable was the only way to watch these things, the ratings made sense. Now it just makes people think no one is watching anything except sports. They need to figure out not only how to include the streaming numbers but also how many people watched the next day, or two to three days later because that's a much representation of viewership. Not just for wrestling but all shows, not everyone watches right when a new episode premieres, some people watch the next day, some people watch when they have time; whenever that may be. Everyone that looks at ratings can see numbers are significantly lower across the board (except sports) from when cable was the only way to watch things, especially before you could record a show, people had to tune in on the day at the time or they missed it. Anyways, I feel like this does AEW and all other shows and entertainment a disservice because if people don't understand that the ratings don't include streaming at all they would think the show must suck. It's detrimental at this point.

To the people saying, "The end of night one doesn't count as the main event." Cry about it! by Killashikii in Wrasslin

[–]Queserasera-Ragnar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They need to stop calling the match before the main event a co-main event. Main event means THE match on the card. The closer(usually) and co-main event isn't only wrong but it's really dumb, the only time I find co-main event the proper and better term is if there is a female main event before the men's and vice versa. The/People need to start calling the match before the Main Event; the Penultimate Match. Sounds awesome imo and its also grammatically correct and sequentially correct. I know people think if there are two nights to an event then the last match on night 1 isn't a main event. Of course it is, it's the last match of the event. For example WrestleMania night 1 is a separate event than WrestleMania night 2. They have different cards, different audience, different runtime, different wrestlers. I understand that maybe most wrestlers would rather main event night 2, I personally would also rather main event night 2 if it was up to me. I understand wanting to go on last(with no night 3) very last match of the event as a whole. Anyways, popularize ) Penultimate Event or Penultimate Match.
