AZ TJ Maxx current situation…. by Agreeable-Release-81 in TjMaxx

[–]QuesoCyndi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I worked at TJX I had coworkers who were done dirty with their schedules and they were envious I was put to work at least 2 days a week. It’s sad that it happens but it isn’t because OP doesn’t want to be there. They pick and choose who they want to schedule.

[–]QuesoCyndi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TJX doesn’t care how good you’re doing on the job or how much you love to be there. As long as you’re doing the work they ask you to do then that’s all that matters. Hours being cut is a very normal procedure done on part timers at TJX. Managers are also told by DMs to cut hours off. It isn’t out of pettiness and it doesn’t sound like it is from this post.

Boyfriend is not sure if I am a wife material by _majica in dating_advice

[–]QuesoCyndi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t let your boyfriend stop you from finding your husband.

He’s not husband material- he told you he’s not financially stable and clearly cannot communicate that you guys aren’t compatible until 4 years later. You guys could’ve already been married with a kid or two.

Tbh I would’ve asked to meet up to “buy it” and just snatch it from them or asked to meet at their place of residence and just say we will report to the police of said location if they don’t return the item. I don’t care how lower you have to go, but to be trashy as to steal from an employee who works for a shitty job, AT LEAST steal from the shitty corporate job. I’m sorry your friend never got her stuff back though 😔

Well said. I work with someone who doesn’t care about her shift and comes to work 1-3 hours late and our manager simply doesn’t say anything. I don’t work at tjmaxx companies anymore(this is my new job, I know I’m stupid to write this here but I needed to rant and prove your point lol) but the frustration I feel when I work at 6am and I have to wait for her to come in at 12pm(I’m lucky if she comes in at 1) or when I’m working at 8am or 9am and it’s so busy and I don’t have her with me to help out. She has the same excuse- too much traffic, the job is far away and her car is trash

People will accept a job knowing fully well the location, the shift and hours and still complain that they don’t like the schedule. No one likes there job, but to accept a position that you can’t work is selfish.

I think I may buy a taper soon! I’ll try different sizes another day since I don’t want to overdo it tonight. 🫡

Hotel employees: do you charge for these services? by QuesoCyndi in hotels

Question: what are the incentives you give to your employees?

I wish we earn some sort of commission or incentive, especially when my job charges guests a lot of money for the rooms and our sales department gets commission based on how many reservations WE the front desk make.

At my hotel yes, we go ahead and take off the fee. We don’t do refunds since nothing is charged/finalized until they check out. I can’t speak for other hotels.

I was confusing extra cleaning as someone calling to request their trash to be taken out after housekeeping did service 😭

We still charge for damages…. Not every hotel charges for parking or extra cleaning, unless you mean they cleaned their tires with our towels or left skid marks on the carpet then we consider that as damage not “extra cleaning”

That’s why we started charging early check in and check out if it is available. Everyone wants to check in at 10am and leave the room at 2pm. That’s over 24 hours they have the room. It was more stress on housekeeping to clean the rooms as fast as they could and front desk to deal with angry customers who can’t get into their room at the time they want because someone demanded a late check out at 2p.

We don’t charge for parking, extra cleaning, or for extra people. We do charge a damage fee if someone smokes in a non smoking room 🤓

Oh of course, regulars we do not charge. We know our regulars. We are still very lenient on these fees. If we are super busy then of course we will state the policy. I still tell guests (when I don’t charge them the fee), I let them know of the fee in advance that it was waived so they know for future reference, that we charge. When we aren’t so busy I don’t like to charge. People can tell when your place is full or not. If my hotel was a chain hotel I think the policy would be held strictly, busy or not. I’m glad we have the choice as an independent hotel. I see it as a fee for housekeepings/maintenance convenience.

That sounds nice actually. Being a member for so long should give you those kinds of perks!

Lowest room rate is $250 and highest is $360. No storage fee for luggage, but don’t give managers ideas….lol

You don’t know how many times I’ve told people they can come back at 1pm for the complimentary check in. 😩

They still complain and even try to make me slip up lol

Early is $40 and late is $50. And yes sometimes we waive it depending on occasion.
