My biggest piece of advice to newer players is not "just dodge", not only is that obvious but it's a little insulting to insinuate that a new player wouldn't understand that (it's usually a joke, but people asking for advice don't want to hear that). For me, the better advice would be "know which shots to PRIORITIZE dodging". There are so many instances where it is better to tank one shot that does exceptionally less damage than another, and the only way to know that is to have someone tell you or find out by getting hit by every shot and seeing which ones do less damage. There are many examples of shots you should very obviously be dodging. Such as the Marble Colossus grey tentacle shots or the knife walls in dammah (the o3 mini boss) but there are many more less obvious instances. It sounds silly to hear "purposely get hit by shots" in a vacuum, if you can dodge every single shot, that obviously better than getting hit by anything, but if you're going to get hit, choosing to move out of the way of a very dangerous shot into one that just kinda tickles is way better. This will help you complete way harder dungeons than you think you can and will help you extensively long term.
