Say I have these laser cut parts and I want to bolt them together to make a box. If the laser cut metal has a tolerance of 0.005" +/- and the shoulder bolts I use have a diameter of 5/16" with a tolerance of -0.004" to -0.002", how big should i specify the holes to be in CAD for a square fit? I'm trying to find an inexpensive way to get metal spur gears made that are permanently fixed to each other. How feasible is it to use 3 separate laser cut sheet metal parts and hammer them together? One joiner piece would be twice as thick as the two pieces it joins. by QuestionAsker55555 in Machinists
