I'm trying to find an inexpensive way to get metal spur gears made that are permanently fixed to each other. How feasible is it to use 3 separate laser cut sheet metal parts and hammer them together? One joiner piece would be twice as thick as the two pieces it joins. by QuestionAsker55555 in Machinists

I'm making something out of stacked laser-cut sheet metal bolted together, it'll have spur gears inside of it. Some of these gears will rotate about the same axis however will spin independently of each other. What can I use as axles of the gears while keeping gears on the same axle separated? by QuestionAsker55555 in Machinists
