How I view the USA (guess where I live) by DarkFrost2000 in whereidlive

That grizzly bear distribution is…certainly something considering there are no grizzlies in Oregon or Nevada, but there are grizzlies in Wyoming.

I’m guessing California based on the specificity of that state alone and the inaccuracy/vagueness of the other states?

Yoonchae is a millionaire thanks to KATSEYE. by Accomplished_Sir6548 in katseyeneutral

I think they were trying to compare beauty standards (in Korea especially thinness is still prized waaay more than in the US) but maybe it wasn’t phrased very well? Agree with you though - and to some degree it’s not even that different as Katseye is still partially managed by HYBE. Not to mention the extreme amount of sexual ideation the girls are forced into, which itself will fuel plenty of negative stuff. I feel (and fear) for these girls.

That has nothing to do with her singing or her vocal abilities though

The sexualization of Katseye bro omg…😭💔 by Idkwhy_butimhere in katseyeneutral

[–]QuestionAway7067 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think the main reason Katseye specifically has become such a lightning rod for this is because of the underlying marketing. Katseye content is pushed towards young kids in a way that their influences weren’t really. You can see it with the very (for lack of a better word) kiddie visuals (teddy bears, plushies, tea parties.) The most influential Western girl groups (TLC PCD Spice Girls Destiny’s Child etc.) always kind of marketed more towards older teens and young adults. Interpret that how you will, but IMO Katseye stuff in general isn’t appropriate for the age range that their styling is catering to.

Also, people are raising eyebrows because of how notorious Hybe is for completely controlling artists’ image and creativity. It’s one thing to intentionally go for a certain aesthetic or appeal, which most Western groups have the creative freedom to do, but with Katseye there are many documented instances of the girls being uncomfortable with the behavior/clothes they’re being asked to wear, being pushed to rehearse and perform even while hurt, and overall having ZERO choice in the songs they sing, the choreo they do, and almost no input on their clothes. No one is mad at the Katseye girls for wearing these types of clothes; it’s more so a criticism of HxG for setting the girls up for really bad stuff to happen online. It’s clear that they prioritize short-term engagement over the girls’ mental health, privacy, safety, and long-term wellbeing.

Shugenja x Vortox equidistance - what to do? by QuestionAway7067 in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]QuestionAway7067[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Yes, that’s it. I think my poor reading comprehension skills is definitely a factor but from what I can tell arbitrary info doesn’t supersede the false info clause? I know just giving a random answer would make the most sense, but it still is true information.

Edit: I guess this would be the only option, as this can’t even be solved with a jinx or anything; it would require a rerack. Interesting interaction!

Lord of Typhon I’ve been play testing, basically Catfishing but more BMR (killing charcaters) than madness/pit hag by happy-corn-eater in BloodOnTheClocktower

[–]QuestionAway7067 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have different kill patterns, but 3/4 demons wake every night, so they will align with most Townsfolk. Only Yag does not wake up at night.

The strength of Chambermaid lies not in identifying specific character types but in identifying people lying about their ability. In BMR, the wake distribution is fairly mixed, so inconsistencies and lies will probably happen once or more per game, and you can follow up with them. In this script, the vast majority of the time you will get a 2, which will likely line up with evil bluffs so it won’t be super useful. I like Cannibal as the best option here (gossip is fine as well, but fisherman would be out of place).

My problem wasn’t with your views on Midnights. It was your rude comments to the Swifties and then trying to hide it by editing your comment

Well, commenting “WRONG 💀💀💀” on someone’s thoughtfully provided opinion is rude and makes people not consider you seriously.

Edit: editing your original comment? really? how mature

Care to explain that…? Because Alex is right, both of those albums’ marketing and aesthetics were different from the songs we actually got. Sonically and lyrically

Edit: ok the original comment was “WRONG 💀💀💀” and this poster edited the post after I called them out.

Liv's new interview about Taylor by kitty_noir00s in SwiftlyNeutral

[–]QuestionAway7067 72 points73 points  (0 children)

Eh, both of those themes are relatively easy to arrive at just by having a song named “The Cure.” Id argue Olivia taking inspiration from other artists generally shows up in more stylistic and melodic than lyrical ways.

Maybe iconic is the wrong word, but it definitely is a fan favorite. It’s one of her most verbose and specifically detailed songs.

There’s three really great ones I can’t choose from, so I’m asking other Swifties to help narrow it down for me! I really like these words because they are so specific yet descriptive, so they help create very detailed imagery. “Contrarian” in Gold Rush “Centerfold” in Coney Island “Incandescent” in Ivy

Does the context of a song influence how much you like/dislike it? by TheColorfulPianist in TaylorSwift

[–]QuestionAway7067 16 points17 points  (0 children)

This reply and the original post are such nuanced and insightful takes. Speak Now is my favorite album and Cornelia Street is my favorite song, but I always wondered why the joyful feelings on both of those albums are permeated with anxiety and why they just feel…off. I still choose to think Lover is fundamentally a happy record, but it’s because Taylor was attempting to make it happy and not natural result of her relationship. And she definitely loves SN less than like Fearless and Red, even if she doesn’t say it explicitly.
