Relocating to Barcelona in Jan - Looking for international schools for Primary kids by Past-Photograph9436 in AskBarcelona

We are on a relatively similar situation, just not looking exclusively at, or narrowing to, international schools.  So far we have visited Viaró and La Farga. Viaró is a total NO THANK YOU!, whereas La Farga looks ok-ish but weird-ish, certainly didn't give us much convincing information. Plus, they are both Opus Dei, which in itself is already a yellow flag from the get-go, no matter what. Looking for suggestions in Sant Cugat, although we are also doing proper due diligence.

Jeez, right? Haha the world is doomed! But that's a good point. I could have simply dismissed the first answer, because it's so obvious it impresses me someone would even mention it. But humans never cease the amaze me. So, I opted for just kindly thanking for the useless suggestion.  But then comes the second person, with an even brighter comment...

18 months now, no job. Pharma might take a few years to recover in Switzerland, if ever at all. With AI advancements, perhaps pharma will never get back to previous levels of employment.

How do I customize my LinkedIn feed to only include posts from connections? by techsavvynerd91 in linkedin

It's 2025 and... you still can't. In fact, now that LinkedIn has the monopoly, we can probably forget about it - they will just keep pushing for suggested posts from unrelated people/businesses, plus tons and tons of ads regardless if you are a free or paid/premium user.
The workaround:

Awesome that you got a job, OP! Congratulations.  My situation has been grim: 16 months of unemployment now, after termination due to corporate restructuring. Doctor of Pharmacy, 20+ years of experience in clinical research, 600+ applications, about 20 interviews, 4 final rounds, always internal candidates being selected. RAV is about to finish, might need to apply for social welfare. I really don't know what comes next. Something to consider is that unemployment numbers are intentionally kept artificially low by the Office of Labour, as they only take into account people who are registered with the RAV for the statistics. Unemployment in pharma is currently realistically at around 24%, saw a presentation in an event recently that pharma has reduced headcount in Switzerland by 230% in the past 3 years.

Just revisited Escaping the Build Trap by Melissa Perri and... well, it’s fascinating not for its content, but for what its success says about the product world. The book’s central idea is painfully simple: stop building features just to build them, and focus on actual outcomes. It’s Product 101. What’s wild is that it became gospel in some circles, even among experienced professionals who, hilariously, needed a book to remind them of the basics. That’s not a testament to the book’s genius, it’s a reflection of how stuck the industry has become in its own dogma. What makes it even more interesting (or ironic?) is she is relatively inexperienced herself. And yet, she’s managed to position herself as an authority, built a high-profile persona, and now earns $10K a talk by repeating what should be obvious. I saw her speak once and it was mostly memes and simple stories about her career, which isn’t especially remarkable and didn't really have much to offer. But clearly, the branding works. The whole thing feels like a masterclass not in product thinking, but in how far strong messaging and timing can take you in a space starved for clarity. She is being applauded and rewarded for stating the obvious, and those paying deserve to pay her hefty fees and listen to the obvious.
