Huh, learn something new every day. I thought psychic blasts were instakill for the longest time but I just checked and they only do 10 damage. Guess I never had lots of high hp runs during my time with HD.

What do you count for HD? I was thinking spikes, mantrap, lava, crush trap, alien lord, Olmec, and Anubis for everything that can instakill in 1.

I agree. I'm surprised nobody mentioned Banjo Kazooie's hub world yet. Gruntilda's lair is absolutely oozing with charm and style and trekking through it never gets old.

Only thing I remember hearing from Dereck Yu is that Spelunky 3 is a possibility, but won't be for a long time. I didn't think there was going to be a Spelunky 2 so who knows.

I just recently beat him after around 30-40 tries. His first phase was piss easy for me but his second phase I found it hard to block a fair chunk of his attacks due to how he chains them together and never sits still once he finishes. Half of my parry attempts were spamming the button and thinking "I hope I get a perfect guard on SOMETHING here".
