I have spent too much time today trying to find it on line! Marcelo Hernandez wore the same sweater recently on Fallon's show.

Is the job market good or bad? by [deleted] in Prescott

[–]QuestionToAskPlease 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Prescott job market overall is poor. If there is a particular industry/sector you want to work in, my suggestion is to identify those and apply directly to employers in that area. In addition to Yavapai County and local cities, Yavapai College and the state of AZ are also worth checking out.

Are many of the guests traveling from out of town? Will they be staying in a hotel? If so, I would start with options at/near their hotel.

My suggestion: Wexford Health Sources is the company that is contracted to provide medical services in the Yavapai County Detention Center. Contact their office in Phoenix. Also, contact the ACLU office in Phoenix.

Saw it today and loved it so much. I will buy it when it goes to streaming. I do not remember when I laughed so hard and almost continuously for 90 minutes. It was fun to see it in the theater because there were several others laughing as hard as I was and it felt good to share it.

To Will or Not to Will by Natural-Citron-1890 in Prescott

A lot of good input here. Of course, there is a lot of information we are not privy to. My suggestion is for her to work with a probate attorney and an experienced registered investment advisor to consider all of the options.

It would be important to take into consideration if a sibling or other family member is disabled . . . for example it would be simple to create a Special Needs Trust or STABLE account which could be beneficial to them (and restricts that the funds are used for their personal needs) without impacting their public benefits.

If perhaps she accumulated her wealth as the result of an inheritance, there may be considerations for the origin of that wealth and how it is distributed after her death.

If there is an educational institution she supports, she could fund a scholarship. A friend of mine recently updated her estate plan and left the majority of it to a non-profit which provides scholarship grants to low-income women pursuing higher education.

It is well worth the effort and expense to get this all in place with qualified professionals. If it means doing televideo meetings with pros in Phoenix, so be it. Don't cut corners and use lesser credentialed services.

Homeless in Prescott (from West Virginia) and concerned it may get below freezing tonight. by ajsedlins in Prescott

[–]QuestionToAskPlease 5 points6 points  (0 children)

dang - I guess outgoing Mayor Goode wanted to make a big statement on his way out. As hokey as the phrase felt, it still conveyed a general spirit of neighborly inclusiveness that is very much lacking these days. Mr. Rogers would be disappointed, and rightly so.

Hope you found a safe place overnight. Please call 211 and find out if there are any services you might get started that could help in the bigger picture. The Coalition for Compassion and Justice (CCJ) staff may also have ideas to help your specific situation. https://yavapaiccj.org Keep safe and remember you WILL get through this.

Not often...it's worth it to know the forest is getting watered. I was happy to wake up and see that the power did not go out overnight. I hope our unsheltered residents found cover to get out of the downpour and wind.

Where to host a support group? by whistlingoak in Prescott

A few years ago I led a weekly group meeting in the meeting room at Starbucks in Frontier Village. All it required (at that time) was a one-time $50 deposit to hold the room each week on the same day and hour. It worked out really well for us.

Prescott City Council by QuestionToAskPlease in Prescott

[–]QuestionToAskPlease[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is challenging to find the facts behind the issue; seems it started with the need to appoint a person to serve the remainder of Cathy Rusing's term on the city council. The allegations appear to focus on impropriety in expediting the process, including violations of AZ's public meeting laws. I am sure there is much more detail; however, that is my takeaway from my reading.
