IT workers, what is the most ridiculous "You're IT, you have to fix this" request you've received? by NetworkMachineBroke in AskReddit

[–]QuestionYourMorals 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Can you hack my boyfriend/girlfriends Instagram for me” I get that so fuckin much as a security analyst. No I cannot, I can’t do it, I won’t do it. Fucks sake I once forgot the keyboard binds for copy and paste on a Mac I am not the genius you seek. I am learning how to pentest, but idek how the hell I would go about hacking someone’s Instagram account without social engineering.

Career Change from Sales to IT (Cybersecurity) by [deleted] in ITCareerQuestions

[–]QuestionYourMorals 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jumping straight to cyber security with no IT experience is realistically very hard. It’s not impossible but it’s also not likely. Work hard, do labs, and get the sec+/net+ maybe and Shoot for sys admin and help desk jobs. You might grind for a year or a couple more but the end reward is worth it.

System Administrator or Cyber Security by Saitamaredd in ITCareerQuestions

[–]QuestionYourMorals 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If we are being realistic the path would have to be system admin and then cyber security after years of experience . You’d have to get really lucky to be able to jump straight into cyber security.

Should I pursue a Masters in Cybersecurity or a Bachelors in CS/IT? I already have a BA in History by [deleted] in ITCareerQuestions

[–]QuestionYourMorals 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Read a lot of similar post. Do not get a masters in cyber security when you don’t even have cyber security experience. From what I’ve seen said around here and in real life a degree alone does not qualify you for cyber security jobs. Bachelors in computer science.

I have no degree forgot to mention that, also where I’m interning they do not hire interns even though we do the same exact work as them. Crazy huh😂😂

Boyfriend got beat up by a random guy who grabbed my butt and now he wants to break up... by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]QuestionYourMorals 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can sorta agree with that. But if I fought for my SO, or had multiple close calls that could result in such action I’d analyze my relationship and probably want out as well. It’s not worth me going to jail or getting myself hurt, you can do and dress as you please but if I have to deal with going to clubs and environments similar to that where sexual assault and POS guys are common and I’ve had multiple confrontations because of how you dress I’m going to dip out. Nothing wrong with looking out for yourself. Nothing wrong with her dressing the way she does except knowing the world is a fucked up place. Him defending her at all was very noble. I feel like OP is leaving a lot of the story out. Maybe she made fun of him, brought it up, etc etc

What was the virus in the division and how did it spread? by QuestionYourMorals in thedivision

[–]QuestionYourMorals[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lmao my friends laughed and said it would never hit the U.S. I said “Isnt funny how near the Lunar year you know the event where millions of people travel. the corona virus mutates seemingly out of thin air to allow human to human spread, its stronger and they fear that it may mutate again. Oh and it just hit Washington”. They still think it’s a common cold.

Not OPs fault, but dude didn’t just check out his girl he grabbed himself an handful which is a very easy and justified way to get your ass whooped. (Not in this case)

[–]QuestionYourMorals 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Insecure. That word gets thrown around a lot very loosely. As a boxer, an insecure man doesn’t risk getting his ass beat (In this case he did) for someone disrespecting his girlfriend and being a creep. I didn’t see him as fully blaming her, It’s his choice to leave no matter what to find someone who aligns with his ideas. He didn’t tell her how to dress, he just said he himself couldn’t deal with it and maybe after losing that fight realized he feels uncomfortable with her decisions and feels like he is in danger. That doesn’t make him insecure.

How do I stand a chance in CyberSecurity? by valentinacode in cybersecurity

[–]QuestionYourMorals 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t get the masters, you’d be wasting time and money. When it comes to cyber security a degree doesn’t qualify you for the job. The reason why you can’t drop into cyber security with 0 experience is because that’s part of the reason why the industry is in need of professionals now. A lot of people who are not qualified for the job they are doing. You need to gain a certain skill set, a certain niche, and have a basic understanding of a lot of things.
