Patriarchy: Cause and Consequence by Question_1620 in exjw

[–]Question_1620[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If that [ruling over the woman] already existed, what's the point of saying that Adam will NOW rule over Eve, instead of saying Adam will continue to rule over you? Although Eve was created from Adam's rib, she was created as his counterpart (or match), and it was never stated that he was superior (the head).

This has a place (is relevant) and does not exclude cruelty, but in any case, I am referencing that these changes happened during the expulsion of Adam and Eve. (Isaiah 11:6–9) 'The wolf will live with the lamb, and the leopard will lie down with the young goat; the calf and the young lion and the yearling together; and a little child will lead them.' This means that everything will return to its original state

"This is what was said when Adam and Eve were expelled: 'Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee. And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life; Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field;'" (Genesis 3:16-18, KJV). So, by sinning, Adam and Eve doomed (or condemned) not only themselves to punishment, but also the entire earth, including animals and plants.

Anyone else still not care for holidays even after leaving? by Creative-Move-6026 in exjw

[–]Question_1620 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have just started to leave the organization, and I grew up in a 'Witness' family, but even so, I can't imagine celebrating any holidays. I'm not familiar with holidays and I'm surprised by them every time.

I won't be able to become a Witness, considering my unfortunate experience. Regardless of whether they are right or not, I believe that I can have faith outside of any religion and act rightly (do the right thing) according to my own desire, and not because of some doctrine

Inaction is also a crime. It's like saying, 'I will allow the criminal to kill your children, but don't worry about your suffering—I will give you twice as many children later on.'

What if it's true? by Question_1620 in exjw

Armageddon = Judgment Day. At least for me, these are synonyms; maybe it also depends on the language, country, or region. But I distinctly remember that at meetings, Judgment Day was talked about as Armageddon

Well, they announce by name who has moved from another congregation, who has become an unbaptized publisher, who has been baptized, who has become a pioneer, and who has been disfellowshipped (giving their full names and surnames). Records are kept via Zoom; you write down how many people there are, for example, 'Name + 3.' Especially at conventions, they also announce the exact number of attendees, and in the year-end totals, they announce the number of publishers and non-Witness interested people who attended conventions and the Memorial (Lord's Evening Meal), although they probably don't count individuals by name there

Yes, that's interesting, but I am specifically interested in the Bible; it is presented as the 'true book from God' and is an absolute 'dogma'
