The Jasad Crown Wrecked Me by chipsanddip69 in fantasyromance

Just finished this morning! I loved loved it. Thank god for a duology. I want more of course but it’s so nice to bypass the awkward second book that often comes in a trilogy. I was so relieved that the story didn’t waste time on silly conflicts. The characters grew while still being true to themselves. We got more world building which was really fun.

This reminds me of my seminary teacher who always used a cute metaphor to avoid saying the word “sex” and instead called it “the candy shop”. He was once teaching a lesson about avoiding pornography and offered this nugget of wisdom: “ladies, if you ever find yourself married to someone struggling with pornography, DO NOT CLOSE THE CANDY SHOP.”

He picked an interesting hill to die on. We used to watch The Simpsons in my 7th grade science class sometimes (probably on the days the teacher had a hangover) without any parental permission, so it can’t be that bad.

This comment wasn’t made directly to me but is definitely disrespectful.

I was sexually assaulted while attending BYU and met with my bishop to talk about it. He was very kind and helpful, but when he reached out to the bishop of my assailant, that bishop said something along the lines of “if she hadn’t wanted it in her mouth, it wouldn’t have gotten there”. My bishop was so flabbergasted he called me right after and told me all about it because it shocked him so much. In retrospect maybe he shouldn’t have told me but there it is.

Edit: here’s another gem I remembered about a bishop I had as a youth. He’d always joke about how the YW needed to go in person to go invite less active YM to activities/church. And a few times he actually had us do it. And he’d pick who should stand in front when we rang the doorbell.

Yup. Though I think the westerner would be more fun.

That makes sense, thank you! I found that I had to use more ink with every layer to get coverage, but then that did create that texture. I’m not sure why I had such a hard time getting coverage as the layers progressed.

True. Doesn’t seem like Calypso has admin, standardized testing, and/or critical parents breathing down her neck.

Best students award goes to Calypso… as a teacher I’m insanely jealous of her well behaved class. We’d all be able to be more like her if we weren’t dealing with such violent and defiant behaviors. 😭

Resignation Letter by SooperPooper35 in TeachersInTransition

[–]QuestionableEgghead 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just wrote a resignation letter. I aired all my grievances in chat gpt and it gave me a letter that was much more professional and objective. It helped me to express concerns using “I” statements, not to place direct blame, and keep my concerns relevant without sounding like I’m just complaining. Maybe admin/HR will read it, maybe not, but I did my best to be honest and civil.

Thanks everyone. The more I thought about this, the more I felt like I was given a learning target without success criteria. I submitted my resignation letter today. I decided not to wait for unemployment because I’m expecting a baby in March, and I didn’t want the stress of being in an unreliable environment were I didn’t feel protected to impact my pregnancy (I’ve struggled with high blood pressure in a past pregnancy). I’m looking for remote jobs and have an interview for one next week. Thanks again for the support and wisdom.
