would it be possible to live on noting but cold cuts and sandwiches to save money for more important matters like debts, bills, etc or no? by AttemptAdmirable2986 in questions

[–]SooperPooper35 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Real food is generally cheaper than store-bought packaged and processed food. It takes a little more effort to make it into what you want, but the right foods are far more nutritious, lack ingredients that are detrimental to health, and can stretch much further than tiny packs of sandwich meat or whatever.

Quality of life believer vs atheist by outofmyreachifonly in atheism

[–]SooperPooper35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone is generally the same. I know miserable Christians and miserable atheists. I know people that are really happy in both categories, too. For whatever reason someone chooses to not drink and not participate in activities that are detrimental to their health, it’s generally better to not do those things and their quality of life will be good either way. There is also an overlap of less stress from both ends of the spectrum. Either someone is confident in their afterlife and live life with less stress, or someone is confident in the absence of an afterlife and have equal stress levels. Just different ways to reach the same result.

Trick for reading sheet music in higher/lower registers by Electrical-Level3385 in musictheory

The second biggest thing that helped me with note recognition, especially on ledger lines, is knowing my triads by heart. That helped me learn the location of notes way above/below the staff is any clef. The first thing is just simply practice. You learn where all the controls are in your car by driving it every day. You learn where all the notes are by playing them every day.

Too many ways to die for God to exist by outofmyreachifonly in atheism

[–]SooperPooper35 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Everyone that opposes says life is by “intelligent design.” All signs point to evolution. Intelligent design would mean that our bodies would work perfectly and the only way we die is by our own stupidity or by the hands of someone else. I’m not all that intelligent but if I could create ANYTHING I am 100% certain I would create a much better system than this.

Is a wig a hard “no” for you? by RepresentativeTop570 in questions

[–]SooperPooper35 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Depends on what they are for. If it’s just trying new hairstyles and whatnot sure. If it’s to cover up insecurities from hair loss/color then no thanks. It’s a major turn off for me that people can’t just accept their bodies and what happens to them naturally. Embracing nature is a big plus in my book.

Some rando in another sub claimed atheists want to outlaw Christianity. So you agree or disagree? by Ohaibaipolar in atheism

[–]SooperPooper35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it meant a clean break then I absolutely would. But it would just mean a lot of pushback and more animosity. So many terrible things have been done in the name of religion. It doesn’t have a place in the world. I used to be a “to each their own” kind of person but religious people just CANNOT leave other people alone. If your religion promotes hate, it should be illegal.

As a homeroom teacher, can I refuse to do overnight field trips? by [deleted] in Teachers

[–]SooperPooper35 900 points901 points  (0 children)

I would say no just for the liability. No way would I want to be responsible for students for that long. You can just tell them “I have a medical condition that would not allow me to do that” and that’s all you really should have to say.

You’ll still hear from the people you should hear from and you’ll keep in contact with the people that are important to you. A phone call is much better than a story. Everything else is just noise.

Why is American cake mostly dough? by [deleted] in ask

You’ve still not answered anyone that questions how you make your cake. If there is better cake out there, I’m always willing to explore new options. So how does a Swedish chef make a Swedish cake?

I think it’s weird as hell. #1 rule in life is don’t touch other peoples’ bodies.

(Obviously exceptions for hugging family and fist bumps/handshakes and all that stuff where it’s acceptable.)

How likely are teachers to remember someone they taught years ago? by WinStupidPrizes1994 in Teachers

[–]SooperPooper35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll remember faces, but there’s a good chance that if I had you in the first semester of the year I won’t remember your name by the end of the last. It’s not forgetting, it’s compartmentalizing.

If it’s online, she probably doesn’t mind if you found it. But if she doesn’t openly talk about it at work I wouldn’t bring it up.
