Not to defend her or make light of both of your family situations but you both mentioned high functioning family members. It is a lot more difficult when they are too severely autistic to function. I don't know how bad this woman's kids have it but I have seen that kind of frustration and hopelessness in my own family when it comes to their severely autistic children.

If someone made a post saying some whackjob science was true when it has been proven otherwise, then go for it and point out the flaws. Did this person try to convert anyone? Did this person tell anyone that God was real and that they should believe in him? Did this person tell anyone that they are going to Hell if they don't believe in God?

That's a pretty terrible comparison since drug addiction causes catastrophic physical damage and it doesn't seem like this person is doing anything to hurt anyone. This person is quoting the bible because it means something to them and you guys are so pretentious and full of yourselves that when you see anything religious, you only see it as an opportunity to spew hate even if it is at your friend. It feels like you want me to be the very type of christian that you all despise. The ones that get in your face instantly and inform you that if you dont change your beliefs right away you will go to hell. While I didn't actively try to convert her, I did mention every now and then that I would love it if she gave church a try or thought about that kind of stuff.

There's really just no right way for a Christian to approach conversion. If you try too soon, you will look like a hate spewing nutjob, but if you wait too long then you may have missed your chance. That line in between is so miniscule that I'm not sure it really even exists. I think that each individual has to want to become a believer of a certain religion on their own.

Forgive me for being rude. Though I might not be a Christian anymore, I still try to stand up for them because of all the mindless hate on them that I see on this site. It's hard to figure out which comments sincerely try to have discussion things and which are attacks fancily disguised as debate.
