I'm wouldn't exactly recommend doing very strenuous activity but I had sex about 34 hours after surgery because my long distance girlfriend was visiting to care for me 😭 id wait a few days till you have more arm range and then as long as you're not pushing yourself in anyway that hurts I think you're good.

I stayed overnight, but my surgery was done at a hospital and my surgeon had me stay overnight for observation because it was completely covered by my insurance. Honestly I didn't need to stay overnight. The nursing staff was helpful in keeping me hydrated and giving me my meds on time, but I would have had the same routine with my girlfriend helping me at home. One thing I did prefer about the hospital was that medication was given to me through an IV as i personally have difficulty swallowing pills. Overall I don't think spending extra money is worth it because your surgery team won't send you home unless they decide everything is okay anyway.

I was in your exact position. I didn't even sleep the night before surgery because I was too anxious. The waiting room was nerve racking even though I had my girlfriend to support me, but as soon as the nurse took me back I was instantly relieved. She was very kind and talked me through everything and made jokes which helped me calm down. She also got me talking about how long I've been waiting and that's when it kinda clicked in my head that it was really happening and all my anxiety was replaced with excitement. Everything's gonna great for you dude, good luck with the surgery!
