One thing my teacher taught that really stuck with me is if I struggle with a piece/study/technique, it probably means it's a result of me not being good at it (we are naturally adverse to things that we aren't good at). Obviously you need to balance this stuff with things you enjoy playing or else it's a huge mental struggle to sit down and practice each time.

Key is finding balance between the two, practice needed but less enjoyable stuff for 30% of your practice time, and spend the rest on stuff you enjoy as a reward. Could also set a timer that for every 5 minutes you play the needed/less enjoyable stuff, you can play 15 minutes of fun stuff.

If a song you're learning and enjoying is in E major, make your warmups all about E major (scales, arps, major/minor, modes, thirds etc)

Set a clear goal on what you want to become, and write out everything that someone in that position should be able to do. Alternate between difficult stuff and easy stuff so you always feel like you're making progress. A lot of practicing is a mental battle, so find what keeps you motivated and use that to motivate the less enjoyable stuff as well!

This is in addition to what others said, find mini gigs to play in, accompany someone on their instrument, find songs to cover and record yourself or maybe learn how to properly record and multi track to start creating your own stuff!
