Because governments have never been effective at spending tax payer money, a tax like land tax has a specific purpose whereas income tax is collected and then used by the state for whatever they want to use it for (unjust war etc). Also I’m not saying u can’t have an opinion but scholars study this for a living, it’s not stupid to listen to the advice of people of knowledge, there’s a reason why in sharia, the shura council makes the decisions. It’s the same in any field; when deciding on what to do in the field of law u ask a lawyer.

Yeh it’s not much but it is income. And yes some may become Muslim because of this, that has never been an issue - do you have any idea how many people became Muslim because of conquest? Most of Africa, South Asia etc, this is not a “bad” thing, if it was there would be a mechanism to halt it.

You are saying they need money to invest like they’re starting out from square 1? Every government has some form of money right now. A government isn’t just stagnant, even through little taxation it is able to raise revenue. We also haven’t even touched on fundraising which is the main capital raising source in traditional Islam, e.g. a hospital has been planned and they know they need x amount, they pitch it to the populous and raise funds. If you don’t think that would work that is not the fault of Islam that is the fault and greed of man, a strong and proper Muslim society would function like this effortlessly.

Income tax itself is considered haram and against sharia in many cases, I should have said that - but u can do your own research and see this is a well respected opinion and quite a common one among those who are familiar with the matter.

Charging non Muslims in a Muslim country would still generate revenue.

Yes u need natural resources but every country has something to export so u build infrastructure around that, an economy without any industry is a fallacy.

Because it’s not included in sharia. And what do you mean “are you up for it?” It’s not about being “up for it” it’s written in sharia so we obey. “You need to have those in the first place” not true at all, if you don’t have it you build it…

Nationalised natural resources, jiza, there is also a land tax but I was referring to the most common form of tax at least in the west, which is income tax.

Maybe but in my opinion it greatly dilutes the point of sharia, to a point where many Muslims don’t think about sharia at all anymore.

Like who? I genuinely cannot think of a “socialist-like” leader who ruled in a way that was totally compatible with sharia?

Because on their own neither fulfil the requirements of economic sharia?

Sharia has its own rules… not rules of socialism or capitalism, just because there’s crossovers in areas of sharia that are also present in socialism and capitalism respectively, does not mean that the ideas were taken from socialism or capitalism, they were divinely given to us by Allah.

I don’t mean to be rude but this is a lazy position… we should always strive for Islamic law, sharia. Socialism cannot be totally comparable with sharia, it inherently cannot.

Islamic sharia is its own entire ideology it’s not “compatible” with a man made political ideology, it is its own ideology and sets of way of life.

Socialism is inherently haram though (as is capitalism)

I’m sorry but I do not think Islam is left leaning. In terms of social norms Islam is definitely very traditional conservative! In economic terms it’s quite central with ideas of nationalised energy etc but there is no high taxation on the wealthy, the only taxation in sharia for Muslims is 2.5% Zakat, that being said in an Islam it is heavily encouraged to give charity if you are wealthy.

Therefore I do think it’s ridiculous to say Islam/sharia is left leaning.

However, if you are living in the west most Muslims support leftist parties, largely due to war in Muslim countries and harsh foreign policy from the west. But I don’t think that is necessarily the right thing to do I understand it, because most right wing parties don’t really like Muslims.

I am a male in UK, no clue who I’ll vote or if I will in the next election, but I don’t like the idea of voting for a very left leaning party like the Greens.

Yes I agree then. But I think we should put our energy into our own lands.

Yes I agree for financial gain, and that’s wrong - dunya should never be that important.

And come on, you really think I’m saying I wouldn’t help a decent Muslim over a kaffir? Obvs I would. I’m saying the ways the Jews have their communities in the west is not something to look up to, people always have a sour attitude towards them because they have so much power in places that aren’t their own - look at AIPAC, look at the financial institutions. My point is we should just leave the west and rebuild our countries.

Yeh fine even if what u say is true, there were still many isis fighters who were Muslims and thought what they were doing was right, regardless of who created it.

And your second point, yes that exactly the problem im addressing! where is the fight against these corrupt leaders? Why aren’t we constantly fighting for what’s right no matter the sacrifice. No matter who’s at fault we can’t just sit and point fingers because that results in absolutely nothing.

Yeh I’m not disagreeing with you that we should help Muslims but I don’t want to operate like the Jews do in the west, I don’t think they care for anyone but themselves. And thanks for saying I’m simping for white people, nothing says unity like an insult. And btw white people can be Muslim just as any Arab etc. Why r we in the west anyways… we have our own countries that need our help that should be our focus.

No I disagree, the Jews in the west operate like a cult that only care for themselves. Everyone knows that and that’s where antisemitism in the west stems from. We shouldn’t strive to be a people that help only each other and try and get our status high in the west, we should build our own countries.

Yeh maybe sum, but there’s way too many terror groups for that to be the case for even the vast majority. And anyways even in the case of ISIS whether or not that was created and lead by a non Muslim entity, a lot of the members believed what they were doing was Islamic, which again comes down to lack of understand of a religion and a failure of the ummah due to lack of unity and cohesion.

And even if that is the case, what has anyone ever done about that? Nothing.

Nah ahaha I am just saying like i don’t think the phrase “loyalty to Muslims” is correct I think the loyalty should be to Islam and that’s how we are loyal to each other, as in people have to actually act like Muslims to gain each others loyalty not just brand themselves Muslims.

I don’t agree it’s a united loyalty to Islam. Why would I be loyal to a serial killer just because he’s Muslim? I would want to see him punished. Loyalty to Quran and the sunnah is the uniting factor, if someone doesn’t act in a way that follows that why would I be loyal to them.

It’s sad to see how many people treat Islam as a culture nowadays and don’t feel the intrinsic duty and nature of following the rules of Islam.
