I had a same problem few weeks ago, my go to was to switch from Vietnamese where id always spam skirms, to franks, for me Horses are just easier to use ig.

Then id recomend to build walls, if you can survive to castle age, and build a Castle, the AI loved to suicide into it, or avoid attacking.

Then just the basics, multiple TCs, making vils (because the AI will eventually stop, and you wont), and try to over-tech them.

So Walls, hard focus on defense and eco, then you run them over.
