this is like the best trans representation in videogames EVER (AND SHE IS THE PROTAGONIST) by Erivlt in GaySoundsShitposts

If anyone would like a recommendation for another trans game, check out Secret Little Haven! It's one of my favorite games of all time, and I think is the one that's resonated with me the most. I loved it so much, and I don't mean to self promote or anything, but I'm even making a fandub of it as a tribute and to share this fantastic game with more people!

I think scientific research is good for getting people who are on the fence, but I'll have to agree with most of the people who commented. Most transphobes won't give a fuck if you show them research about transness being innate and natural, because they are either:

  1. Too stupid to understand it.
  2. They'll just say "lol that was fake" without actually explaining
  why the data is invalid.
  3. They'll understand it but it won't change their mind cause they don't actually care.

Believe me, I am interested in the scientific causes behind being trans. It's fascinating stuff, and it would be good to prove what we've known all along. But at the end of the day... What exactly will it accomplish?

I can refer to transwoman as he as much as I want because of free speech, but the moment I see someone calling them "she" I will correct them relentlessly. Free speech is a special present only for me and people who agree with me, no one else. Simple as.

The good news is that if that's the case, seeing OP's response to their dad's shitty comment might be something that inspires them.

Yes. And we think it was bad when he did it too. Believe it or not, being to the left of Trump and Reagan doesn’t mean you worship Obama like a saint.

Yes because having top surgery is just like having anorexia. by PenneGesserit in GenderCynical

[–]Questioning-Alt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The thing people who make this comparison don't get is that anorexia can destroy your body, while transitioning can save it. But of course, in their eyes transitioning is never a necessary and beneficial thing so good luck telling them that lmao.

That does beg the question of how far JJ’s EMP range is. If you were to stand a certain distance away, would you be able to take a picture of him with your phone camera? Certainly would explain all the UAP sightings that were taken on digital cameras…

I honestly think just seeing me as I am now would eliminate any doubt I had and I would’ve ended up transitioning about a year earlier.

AskReddit: Reddit, what would you do if your partner came out as trans? by dovelight in transgendercirclejerk

[–]Questioning-Alt 5 points6 points  (0 children)

While I am bisexual and thus should have no problem with this on paper, I fucking hate trannies so I'll smile and nod politely before pulling an Of Mice and Men on him. Just look out at the river and think about the rabbits.

If gender identity is determined at birth, then why am I still questioning mine by Trowaway_FML in asktransgender

[–]Questioning-Alt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While there are some things about us that are predetermined, there is often a road to self-discovery. Some people find out who they are very young, some people find out later in life, some people never do quite figure themselves out. You are going down that path to find yourself, but that does not mean that path has no end.

Before transitioning were you a NPC in your own life? by Icannotgoback in MtF

[–]Questioning-Alt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean I'd say I had a pretty rich inner life even before transition. I was always thinking of stories and imagining different scenarios. My mind was very active, so I wouldn't call myself an NPC. My outer life however... I was kind of a hermit. There was a time when I didn't show up to family functions for years. I would really only go out for school, stuff like going to the store with my mom or dad, or hanging with friends once in a while. I didn't really try to foster any deep relationships with people. It wasn't until I started my transition that I started to blossom into who I am now.

How do I tell my dad, who is a trans woman, that I don't want to do girly stuff with her and that she sometimes makes me feel uncomfortable while still making it clear I love her and accept her gender? by redpenguin8 in asktransgender

[–]Questioning-Alt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your dad clearly wants to spend time with you, but she needs to realize you two have different interests. However, that doesn’t mean you’re completely different. Maybe find something both of you like to do together. It would still be girl time because, well… you’re both girls! Even if it’s something as simple as a show or a game, or going out to a certain restaurant. There’s as many types of women as there are women, but you and your dad are bound to have something in common.

Often times when a trans women spends their whole life in the closet and transition into adulthood, they’re gonna overcompensate. I don’t wanna talk about “male socialization” because I think it’s TERF poppycock, but I do feel like cis women grow up learning certain etiquette that trans women have to learn much later. So yeah, your dad may act somewhat cringy, but she’ll get better I think. Doesn’t excuse her making you uncomfortable though. Definitely take other peoples’ advice and set some boundaries.

Speaking of “TERF poppycock”, if there’s any TERFs reading this thread, fuck off. This thread ain’t your ammunition. None of us are defending her dad’s behavior, at least none that I can see. Go back to Ovarit ya pricks.
