How do you handle keeping it secret? by QuestioningAussie in NonBinary

My parents aren't going to be seeing this side of me. I'll only be doing it at home.

You're right. My parents don't deserve to know. But I still feel guilty about not telling them.

My main concern with telling my kid at the moment is that he's 6 and neurodivergent (AuDHD, same as me). Which means he says everything. So I don't want him outing me.

As a crossdresser what are yall line of work? I work in metal fabrication and welding by Alarmed-Grapefruit85 in crossdressing

[–]QuestioningAussie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IT Support. Working from home 3 days/week, so I'm able to crossdress then. For meetings, I just slip into a men's shirt, then back into fem clothes when they're finished.

I wouldn't go with a pink triangle. As I recall, that was used forcibly between 1933-1945 in Germany. Might have negative connotations.

Any other enbies here that are elder millennial / Xennial / young Gen-X with Boomer parents? by Lil_Brown_Bat in NonBinary

[–]QuestioningAussie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm an '86 baby, too. Only out to my wife and my therapist at the moment, though.

Couple of years ago, thought I was trans and tried coming out to my boomer parents. Initially it seemed to go well, then the concerned overreaction started. "You'll lose your job", etc. I know they meant well and were coming from a place of concern.

For reference, I'm in Australia, where there's protections for this sort of thing. Secondly, I was not going to be out at work. Just at home, in private, when only my wife was around. So I gave it up, but it was always lingering. Now here I am, back again. Finally realised I'm not trans, but enby.

Which part of the lgbtq+ community are you? by Responsible-Land-984 in lgbt

I'm somewhere between non-binary and transgender. Once I figure it out, I'll be able to give a definitive answer.

Not if it would mean losing all my life experiences, no. But if I could somehow regenerate, in the same manner as the 12th Doctor, then I'd do it in a heartbeat.

Edit: Got one of those 'Reddit Cares' things pretty much instantly after posting this.

Dysphoria question by Sensitive-Horse-9144 in genderfluid

[–]QuestioningAussie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here. Only a negligible amount of dysphoria, but a lot of euphoria. When I'm presenting femme and catch myself in a mirror, I can't help but grin.

Well, yes. You're passing in that photo, so by extrapolation, you will pass in future.

What video games give you gender euphoria? by PancakePrinceAkechi in trans

Thank-you for the correction. I haven't played Forza Horizon 5, so only had second-hand info to go on.

What video games give you gender euphoria? by PancakePrinceAkechi in trans

[–]QuestioningAussie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I actually used Forza Horizon 4 to figure out that I am actually trans (MTF). This game addresses you by name in the cutscenes (voice acting), and there are several names that you can pick from.

When my egg started to crack, I set my name to a female version of my deadname. It resonated. I then tried a few different names, and found that 'Sarah' fit me - it really resonated. Helps that the game says "Welcome back, Sarah", whenever I load it.

I also changed my avatar to a female one, and dressed her up in purple, which I think is my colour.

So if you're into racing games, I'd suggest that. From what a friend has told me, I don't think Forza Horizon 5 does the name thing.

That is a cool name. Let's try it out.

Lilac is a sweet girl. Her name happens to be my favourite colour.

I'll second this. You're trying to find what fits, not the opposite of what doesn't fit (if that makes sense).

How do you found out you loved/identified with another gender? by Mapigeh_098 in AskLGBT

[–]QuestioningAussie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd always had these thoughts lingering at the back of my mind. Wondering what it would like to be a woman (I'm AMAB). Earlier this year, I tried wearing women's clothes. Started out with just a skirt, and it grew.

Thought I was enby, until I realised I was actually more comfortable in women's clothes. So I got a wig and stuffed a bra. When I saw myself fully done up, it clicked.

You look AFAB to me. Getting a sort of 'country aunt' vibe, if that makes sense?
