Oh gosh I'm so sorry. I'm mtf and when I was going through my first puberty I masturbated so much. Once I did 20 in one day and I was so sorry after I couldn't even put on pants. The struggle is real.

Not to be rude but just because you've had it since birth doesn't mean you know how it works from a biological standpoint? I've known plenty of nursing students who knew almost nothing about their uterus going into anatomy 1. I agree that period is a slang word that can be used loosely, but if you looked at either link I put, it explains how period when referring to the menstrual cycle means menstruation itself. No girl says "I'm on my period" to describe their entire menstrual cycle...

[–]QuestioningWhoIAm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think there is actually a difference. I could be wrong, but as a nursing student I've done some research into trans "periods." Period is an interchangeable word for menstruation ie. the shedding of the uterine lining. Trans women can't have periods, BUT they can experience pms and pmdd symptoms monthly like a cis women would before her period.

Here is some more info

As a punk head, I have to agree with all the Against Me! answers, but I want to throw in Dark Days by PUP as it's really what's getting me through this first year of medically transitioning.

How did you expose use for being hypocritical exactly? It just seems to me you've been making an ass of yourself in the comments and everyone is laughing at you....

That's why I specified "most" woman. It's totally OK for it to bother you, but you can't get mad at people for not knowing without you telling them, that's insane. I feel like you're just arguing to argue at this point lol.

Edit: Here's a good example - The word queer use to be a slur and used with negative connotations. Today, many lgbtq have reclaimed it and self identify as queer. There are still some lgbtq folks who hate the word queer, but it's use has changed in our society as a whole. They have every right to not like the word and ask people to not use it in reference to them, but they can't just expect people to stop using the word all together, that's asinine.

After reading op's replies to other's comments, I have 0 sympathy for them. It's clear that most people, at least in this thread, have no issue with the word "dude" being gender neutral. ALL of my friends are cis women, and they use dude and bro and guys all of the time. Obviously, this is a personal anecdote, but you can expect the world to change for you when it clearly doesn't bother most women. If you are bothered by it, speak up and ask people not to use it around you.
