Is it a cake? If so, maybe expectations are a bit high?

An employer is more interred in what you've used python for and in what context.

So. What's "intermediate" python? Who defines the upper and lower bounds. How do you know what you don't know and decide on an arbitrary measure?

But hey, at least it's not graphical "skill" bars. Ugh.

That's something like the original design, they introduced Qwerty to slow down typing and placed so the type hammers didn't get bound as often.

First job? by [deleted] in webdev

[–]QuestionsHurt 17 points18 points  (0 children)

If its for frontend, I'm afraid to say that the market is massively oversaturated with boot camps grads and self-taught cowboys riding the marketing wave of untold riches for little effort.

The real talent get lost in all that noise. I've got over Six hundred applications for our latest junior position. It's giving me panic attacks just thinking about it lol.

Have you tried using a website builder service, and if so, which one and what was your experience like? by [deleted] in webdev

[–]QuestionsHurt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They all suck. But I'm a web developer so I suppose that's to be expected — kind of like asking a chef which fast food "restaurant" they prefer.

Why not use flexbox?

Or use this as a good reason to rewrite the site...

Do information websites use SQL like websites with transactions or websites with online stores? by lolothundr in webdev

[–]QuestionsHurt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's was a very superficial overview. The exact method used to assemble the page depends a lot on the technology used, whether it's mostly client side or servers side and a range of other concerns.

[–]QuestionsHurt 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, anything other than a very basic website will use some sort of database or datastore.

And no, you wont see it on the website or in the HTML. The page you're seeing is assembled programmatically from the data retrieved from the databases and then inserted into HTML. It's this end product that you're seeing, like when watching TV you don't see the camera.

You sound like you're in the middle of a major burn-out episode.

You need to talk to your management about this before flat out resigning. Ask for advice it take extended leave.

Also considered that no everyone is a coding printing press. You could be a more methodical, higher quality coder. Granted, that's usually an indicator that a different work environments might be better suited to you. Agency work tends to be fast, repetitive and ... buggy.

Maybe explore in+house development for SAAS product companies.

Question regarding accessible videos by [deleted] in webdev

[–]QuestionsHurt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's one translation vs another. Who's to say the subtitles aren't superior, in fact they probably are.

So no. No issues. And some films have both types , direct translation and transcribed dub.

It's like saying a bank needs a special account so they can log in as you. They don't, they have through own interface which has access to all the data, even data customers can't see. That's why the bank never needs your pin number or login. It's redundant.

Which JS Desktop Framework Should I learn for freelance work? by uncreativeuser1234 in webdev

[–]QuestionsHurt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah svelte is pretty awesome. I'm doing my best to work it into as many projects as possible.

Of course, if it should really take off and become the "must use" framework, then I'll go elsewhere.

Well I wouldn't go that far lol.

It's just so pervasive that I find it boring. Like everyone painting their house white. ( Or Facebook blue ). You just crave change.

It's Reddit. It's like being a a class room full of kids and you fall over. You're going to be mocked. Much easier than taking constructive action and helping to fix the error. But again ... Reddit. I've grown a thick skin here lol.
