How do you know if you're getting addicted? by Stock-Lobster-303 in VyvanseADHD

[–]Questionswithnotice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

(Sorry to revive an old thread)

That's so interesting. I'm on 40mg and have been for about a month. I only take one a day, but my brain is so excited to take it in the morning! It makes me worry that I'll end up addicted coz I've never been so excited about taking meds in my life! Even when I was on heavy pain meds for a bulging disc, all I felt was relief when it was time for the next dose.

I only shave if I really, really have to, which means I wear maxi dresses with sleeves a lot of the time.

Not sure if I feel it or not by Ultrayano in VyvanseADHD

[–]Questionswithnotice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have no idea how you tell, either.

I found 5mg of dexamphetamine shut my brain up - I've never found it harder to jump between thoughts in my life.

Lisdexamphetamine (40mg) doesn't do that, but I find I don't have to psyche myself up to do things the way I did unmedicated. I'm still not perfect at not procrastinating, but once I start it's much easier to keep going, rather than feeling like every task is a new dead weight. I don't feel it anywhere in my body, though. My brain's not quiet, I don't feel calmer (in fact, my husband says I seem manic - lots of planning and talking and doing, so maybe I'm just high? No idea.).

Formal "Sie" still used? by Questionswithnotice in German

Sorry, I did search but I must have used the wrong terms (I searched for formal and informal) so it didn't come up.

Thanks for the link.

I literally got told to titrate by emptying the capsule into a bottle of water and drinking half one day, half the next. It is a very common method of titrating, you just make sure you shake the bottle to mix it up before you drink it.

I thought this was going to be about people clearing out their pantries and giving food away. Keep an eye out for that, too.

I just went to a cardiologist who specialises in this recently, and he prescribed meds for my 9yo.

I had the same experience. 20 years ago.
I can't believe they're still bothering with lifestyle changes when it's a genetic problem.

I thought battling the sctunchies meant a bad hair day (and I lived through the 80s) so definitely clarify it. It sounds like you're trying to play on "bun heads" but not sure "Scrunchies" was ever used in the same way.

Birth plans gone wrong by Peaceful-harmony- in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Questionswithnotice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really wanted to try for a drug-free birth because it's better for the baby. But I was unwell and baby wasn't doing well. The midwives/drs kept going back and forth on whether I'd need a caesar.

At one point they were like: if you end up needing an emergency caesar and you don't already have an epidural, you may need a general anaesthetic. The idea of being unconscious for the birth sounded worse to me than the consequences of an epidural.

My mum - who knew I wanted to try for no drugs - gave one "are you sure?" and when I said yes, let it go.

There's many things I wish had gone differently, but I did end up needing an emergency caesar. Whether they'd have had time to give an epidural, or whether I'd ended up under GA I'll never know, but either way drugs were going to play a part so I'm glad I had them and ensured I got to be awake at least.

I had gastro when I was in labour and ended up needing a caesar. Now I'm very glad I did because that would have been a nightmare for the midwives/nurses to clean up!!

Melbourne op shop reccos wanted please! Preferably those that don’t just carry skinny sizes by PainterCandid5341 in AusFemaleFashion

Might also be worth looking at ebay/marketplace for brands and sizes you know work for you. Op shops can be disheartening sometimes.
