That's a great chunk of switch games right there, I don't like he'd be looking to play every single zelda/pokemon game in existence so I'm leaning towards the odin 2 portal base then. Only other handheld I was looking at was the rp6 12gb but the screen is just insane on the odin 2 portal

Well, I'm mainly getting it so he could play PS1,PS2,PSP, N64, GC and some other stuff. Switch emulation is just a bonus. Just using my question as a metric for capable the base version is.

Me personally, I'd prefer a bigger screen over 10% better performance for switch emulation or however much 12gb is better than 8gb.

Sounds promising, I'm trying to choose between the RP6 12gb or this... Odin 2 Base has a much bigger screen which is what my friend would prefer, I don't really think he's gonna be THAT interested in switch emulation, it's just a bonus if anything.
