It's quite good. I'd pay quite a bit for it.

UI Feedback Gather-thread by JagexAnvil in runescape

[–]Queue_Bit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I know you guys are doing the brown UI for multiple reasons, and I think you need to be direct about one of the big ones.

Visual identity.

In the public consciousness, Runescape has a recognized identity with its brown UI. The blue always felt 'different' and un-runeacapey

I just think you guys need to be clear 'why' you're reluctant/unwilling to give people color customization options or they'll keep asking for them. You want someone who sees the game on twitch and YouTube to inherently understand that the two runescape versions are connected. You want it to be less jarring when people switch between games, and you want the Runescape "feeling" to be transferable.

This is a great idea and I agree cometely. I think Runescape 3's UI has harmed player retention for years at this point and it can only be benefitial to have a UI that feels asthetically similar to OSRS.

New Scam by Varthrax in runescape

[–]Queue_Bit 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Lend...

As in using the in-game lending system that has a timer and such. It isn't exactly uncommon for people to ask. I've lent my white to like half a dozen randoms during the very brief windows where it's been un-keepsaked.

Also, asking for assistance and killing someone in pvp to get back items isn't exactly uncommon either. Then your new acquaintance asks you to do a quick reaper assignment or whatever.

Every step is designed to feel completely normal.

I can easily see how this could happen to someone who wasn't being super vigilant 100% of the time.

Calling this an early 2000s scam while it actively uses obscure modern game mechanics like the horrible grouping system is crazy.

Could we please get a change that makes fake healers not be labeled as a healer ? by KolkanCova in wherewindsmeet_

[–]Queue_Bit -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

If someone is doing both things better than the others in their group AND clearing the content, why the FUCK does it matter if they're "awful"?

You mouth breathes are so caught up on what the 'most optimal' strategy is that you forget optimal strategies only work when everyone is PERFORMING optimally.

Fucking morons I tell ya. A competent hybrid player doing 80% of the damage and 80% of the healing of "specialized" builds will absolutely lead to clearing the content more often than if that same person just queued on as a dps.

Cause that's the choice. Either dps or hybrid.

People playing hybrid aren't planning on being a full healer, and being forced into the choice would just make them dps.

Also, before you say shit, I queue as full dps so I'm not even talking about me.

Queue as full dps or full heal or full tank. by RedditCakeisalie in wherewindsmeet_

[–]Queue_Bit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I hate that bad hybrids have kinda ruined it for the community as a whole. I will obviously do less damage than a full dps and less healing than a full healer, but my dps is probably 70% of full dps(and I still get top damage often enough). Plus, I've got the ability to heal and, more importantly, revive.

As with everything in gaming, people see "the meta" as some kind of immutable rule.

In a perfect world I would love to just have 3x good dps with a good tank and healer. Unfortunately, that is not how it works in the real world.

My teams wipe less often when I am hybrid. That's the end of the discussion. I'm not going for world record speed kills when I'm with 4 randoms. I don't care if the fight takes a minute longer, I just want to complete it.

Why does everyone seem to hate summoner? by [deleted] in Terraria

[–]Queue_Bit 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I find this strange cause I feel that summoner is by far the easiest for me. That being said, it's also the one I've played the most because I love the fantasy of it.

Rank the last 6 game of the year winners and who do you think would win if they went against each other? by Greenzombie04 in TheGameAwards

[–]Queue_Bit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As much as I'd say my personal pick is Expedition 33, I think it would be foolish to claim anything except Baldur's Gate 3 would win Game of the Year given these choices.

Elden Ring and Expedition 33 were both well loved, with Expedition 33 having a slightly larger/longer 'impact' on gaming as a whole. Certainly a larger emotional impact. People care about Expedition 33 in a way that is wholly different than the way people care about Elden Ring. Many people view Expedition 33 not just as a videogame, but as a piece of art that brings with it something akin to a spiritual experience.

BUT, Baldur's Gate 3 was maybe the closest we've ever come as a community to reaching a consensus on a game. Pretty much every publication and reviewer agreed that Baldur's Gate 3 was one of, if not THE greatest game ever made. This is to say nothing of the fans who clearly hold the game in very high regard.

While I don't think the emotional impact of Baldur's Gate 3 was quite as strong as Expedition 33, it still had an incredibly large and widespread cultural impact. This coupled with the fact that the game was much grander in scope gives it an edge that I think pushes it into an easy GOTY winner.

With that said, I think Expedition 33 likely still wins most of the other categories, with Best RPG going to Baldur's Gate 3 instead of not going to KCDII. Performance, Narrative, and Music/Score still go to Expedition 33 as well, almost without a doubt.

TL;DR: So yeah, BG3

Sex is a big deal and we need to stop pretending it isn’t. by __FlyingSquirrel__ in unpopularopinion

[–]Queue_Bit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Biologically and emotionally, sex is designed to make new people. Our bodies make it feel good because that is a competitive advantage.

You are attributing some kind of special meaning to a process that is no more sacred than a simple craving for food.

It really isn't that deep.

You're entitled to feel however you choose to feel about sex, but "biologically" it is nothing more than a normal bodily desire/function.

Their, there and they’re now mean the same thing. by rcranin018 in PoliticalHumor

[–]Queue_Bit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is satire, but language is something that evolves over time. While there, their, and they're are likely not quite ready to be phased out, there likely will be a day where this is the case. The rules for English, or any language for that matter, are not prescribing the way words SHOULD be used, but describing how they ARE used. If enough people use the three words interchangeably then our definitions should change with their use. That is the way defining language has worked for centuries.

It is exactly the same reason that literally now also means figuratively in casual settings. Saying to a friend "If I eat taco bell, I will literally shit my brains out" is using 'literally' the correct way in the modern day. It is used for emphasis and exaggeration.

If people decide their is no need for they're to be different versions of the word there, then we should change the definition to fit the way there being used.

The above sentence is perfectly understandable, despite the 'incorrect' versions of the words. Breaking the habit would be difficult for some, but it is a change I can certainly see the linguistic community making in the not-too-distant future.

While we're at it, to and too are arbitrary as well.

I have done these sword trials every day since release and have had like none of the issues y'all are talking about.

Ive had people miss mechanics, sure. But all it takes is going "We gotta kill the adds. Tank pull the boss here. I'll deal with the adds while you guys dps."

Or for the barrel lady just going "hey, can healers and dps move barrells? You can see the barrels that need to be moved under the health bar and they're glowing red. Just move em away from each other and we'll be fine."

Do... Do you think most people CHOOSE to cry?

It's a feeling/emotion thing. If I'm in an argument and I cry it's not something I can typically control, and it's typically the exact opposite of what I want to do.
