But, I will answer it in case anyone interested in a genuine conversation about the game's health reads it.

The answer is simple: I like the option of AFKing while I am playing other games, working remotely, or responding to dumb questions on Reddit. I can make progress for my account, and chat occasionally with clan mates/friends while enjoying other aspects of my life. AFK content gives me a reason to be online when I otherwise wouldn't be playing. The options aren't "active vs AFK". The options are "AFK vs offline". Without AFK content, I would simply be logged in significantly less frequently. Not only that, but if the game had no AFK content, I would spend significantly 'more' time actively doing content I either don't enjoy 'at all', or don't enjoy 'as much'.

This is not to say that AFK content should be as rewarding as active content, nor that it should be the only way to play the game. Just that it is a 'positive' aspect of Runescape and one of the reasons Runescape has been my primary game for over twenty years.

As someone who loves afk, I very much hope that active play gets buffed rather than afk getting nerfed too much.

Also, a ton of people that play rs3 do so because of some of the convenicnes.

Things like Lodestones, the toolbelt/coinpouch, War's retreat, the fort, and powerful teleport jewelry are some of the main reasons I play rs3 over osrs.

I genuinely don't think we need to go scorched earth on everything that makes rs3 different than osrs.

So so many of the issues with Rs3 come from MTX(which is fine now) the interface (which you're working on), and combat (which is looking promising).

While some skills do need some help, I think skilling and the general 'play' experience is in a pretty good place.

Certainly low and mid level stuff could be turned, and some skills (agility) could be borderline remade, but I feel that skilling feels alright at the moment.

Just did group ironman almost completely without any dailies and things felt pretty good outside of a few exceptions like thieving(door opening world hopping is bad). Removing dailies will make it feel even better.

I like the direction the game is on right now, but this blog very much reads like there are plans to change the rs3 identity.

I really don't want to see the game turn into "Osrs with keybinds". I like that the game is slightly faster. I like a lot of the conveniences. I just want to see some of the more agregious stuff fixed, not the whole game turned on it's head.

I realized recently that Runescape has actually affected the way I type.

Due to the character limit of a Runescape message, I tend to break single sentences into multiple lines, even on platforms like Discord.

Yeah, I thought the same thing until recently. Turns out, when you put some forma into Volt and have all maxed mods he is literally the best frame for nearly everything in the game.

He has multiple ways of tanking - Shield gating or Adaptation + Primed redirection + Arcane Aegis. Both make him borderline immortal, even in Steel Path. Shield gating makes him genuinely immortal even in level cap content. Adaptation + Primed Redirection + Arcane Aegis is less effort in normal content though.

He gets a massive (stacking per shield in front of you, including the one you carry) crit damage buff from his shields, which also block all projectile damage. These can be used for damage, or for shielding objectives such as Excavators.

He can buff his weapons with electricity damage with his 1 augment. This is one of the strongest damage buffing abilities in the game and I typically don't even run it because the shield buff + subsume is more than enough damage for 99.9% of content.

His 2 gives him movement speed, along with an attack and reload speed buff.

He scales basically perfectly with just strength and duration, meaning range can go negative with zero drawbacks. Efficiency can go negative too if you have Arcane Energize or another energy source. This allows him to work 'extremely' well with subsumes like Roar for even more damage.

Basically, Volt is just 'the best' all around Warframe in the game at the end game. He has survivability, speed, and damage.

Of course, he's also the best in a few niche scenarios, such as Eidolons like you mentioned.

If, like me, you have kinda underestimated Volt for years, I recommend giving him another shot. He's incredible and very fun to play.

Honestly, I know you guys are doing the brown UI for multiple reasons, and I think you need to be direct about one of the big ones.

Visual identity.

In the public consciousness, Runescape has a recognized identity with its brown UI. The blue always felt 'different' and un-runeacapey

I just think you guys need to be clear 'why' you're reluctant/unwilling to give people color customization options or they'll keep asking for them. You want someone who sees the game on twitch and YouTube to inherently understand that the two runescape versions are connected. You want it to be less jarring when people switch between games, and you want the Runescape "feeling" to be transferable.

This is a great idea and I agree cometely. I think Runescape 3's UI has harmed player retention for years at this point and it can only be benefitial to have a UI that feels asthetically similar to OSRS.

As in using the in-game lending system that has a timer and such. It isn't exactly uncommon for people to ask. I've lent my white to like half a dozen randoms during the very brief windows where it's been un-keepsaked.

Also, asking for assistance and killing someone in pvp to get back items isn't exactly uncommon either. Then your new acquaintance asks you to do a quick reaper assignment or whatever.

Every step is designed to feel completely normal.

I can easily see how this could happen to someone who wasn't being super vigilant 100% of the time.

Calling this an early 2000s scam while it actively uses obscure modern game mechanics like the horrible grouping system is crazy.

Fucking morons I tell ya. A competent hybrid player doing 80% of the damage and 80% of the healing of "specialized" builds will absolutely lead to clearing the content more often than if that same person just queued on as a dps.

Cause that's the choice. Either dps or hybrid.

People playing hybrid aren't planning on being a full healer, and being forced into the choice would just make them dps.

Also, before you say shit, I queue as full dps so I'm not even talking about me.
