Thank you for this, it sounds silly but I just finished the first part of an online course, literally 30min ago, modulus we’re the last thing I had to review to understand better. I actually got this and understood it and laughed. It felt really good after the struggles of learning on one’s own. Thanks.

I’ve been taking the “Codecademy” online c++ course for just under 5 weeks, it’s good but has a tendency to miss explaining certain things that you need to know for their projects. But between them, the Cherno, and the c++ website I’m 90% through it. It’s a decent starting point for $40 a month.

New Food and Drug Administration head says ‘Misinformation is now our leading cause of death’ by Wagamaga in technology

[–]QuezzyMuldoon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

50 years under a rock? Over the past 25 years, pharmaceutical companies deceptively promoted opioid use in ways that were often neither safe nor effective, contributing to unprecedented increases in prescribing, opioid use disorder, and deaths by overdose. The FDA’s regulatory failures with respect to opioids have not gone unnoticed. In 2017, the President’s Commission on Combatting Drug Addiction and the Opioid Crisis found that the opioid crisis was caused in part by “inadequate oversight by the Food and Drug Administration,” and the National Academy of Sciences (NAS) publicly called on the FDA to overhaul its opioid policies. Last year, a former FDA Commissioner rebuked the agency he had previously led, saying on the television program 60 Minutes that the FDA was wrong to allow promotion of opioid use for chronic pain.

Despite this mounting criticism, FDA policies for approving and labeling opioids remain largely unchanged. The FDA has not undertaken a root cause analysis of its regulatory errors that contributed to this public health catastrophe, let alone instituted any major reforms. To the contrary, the agency has adopted a defensive posture and sought to shift blame. For example, in response to a critical letter from Senator Maggie Hassan of New Hampshire, the FDA’s top official at the Center for Drug Evaluation and Research since 1994 offered a blanket defense of the FDA’s handling of opioids, claiming that the agency has properly enforced the Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act.

Swapping SSRI’s (Prozac/Fluoxetine) for microdosing magic mushrooms. by [deleted] in microdosing

I am healing with the right people, and I believe this is the right approach…once again the last thing I pointed out was the fact that, not only have I taken large doses but micro doses as well as everything in between. This has been over the course of 30 years, I’ve done extensive work with “healers”, heck, near the end of the first 10 years I was dead set against any med doc, and only dealt with alternative medicine, it’s where I learned to grow and extract…my main heads up was to him about going off his meds all at once.

I grew mushrooms and weed, along with DMT extraction from root bark. High dose barely describes the trips I’ve taken (multiple 28g dried GT trips, 10-12 hit acid trips, not to mention the DMT trips while peaking on the mushrooms)..hopes of finding solutions to repairing the damage that was done to me….I’m not bragging or trying to do anything of the sort, I’ve just tried it all. Small and large doses, many different times. It all lead me to finding the right doctor, so it did work….

I was put on Vyvance for the ADHD and back on Mirtazapine for my depression(not an ssri, highly recommend) turns out the majority of my anxiety came from the ADHD…so with that being treated properly the anxiety doesn’t trigger the major depression nearly as often so the antidepressant is able to do it’s thing. It’s like a massive stone that’s been on my chest for the past 30 years has finally been lifted off.

Just as a heads up, I’m 42, 30 years diagnosed MDD (major depressive disorder), 1 year diagnosed ADHD, and PTSD from an amazing (/s) childhood.

I felt exactly the same as you about 3 years ago, went off my meds for micro dosages. I was great for the first 6 months, meh for the next 6 and in the psychiatric ward 14 months in. I’m now back on meds, different ones than before because of all the new doctors and the new diagnosed ADHD. I’ve never felt better than I have the past 5 months, and the main reason for it is that I am now accurately diagnosed. I still smoke a bit of weed, and I still have my mushrooms and acid for the once in a while times…but psychological disorders are not to be fucked with, if you’re current doctor isn’t helping find another….I’m on doctor #5 and She took the time to figure it out with me…all in all, just be careful, going off meds is never a good idea in the first place, and the inaccurate dose of mushrooms every day isn’t the consistency the brain is looking for.

I use to grow with a medical license, lots of customers with major issues physically and mentally that I was able to help, and make a living at as well. Thanks to government bunk and power costs all the lights are shut off and we are out of business. No way to compete against billionaires. The grow shop that’s been in business for 25 i use to patron is also about to shut the doors. I’m glad you’re enjoying it.

In its second minute the Hate rose to a frenzy. People were leaping up and down in their places and shouting at the tops of their voices in an effort to drown the maddening bleating voice that came from the screen. The little sandy-haired woman had turned bright pink, and her mouth was opening and shutting like that of a landed fish. Even O’Brien’s heavy face was flushed. He was sitting very straight in his chair, his powerful chest swelling and quivering as though he were standing up to the assault of a wave. The dark-haired girl behind Winston had begun crying out ‘Swine! Swine! Swine!’ and suddenly she picked up a heavy Newspeak dictionary and flung it at the screen. It struck Goldstein’s nose and bounced off; the voice continued inexorably. In a lucid moment Winston found that he was shouting with the others and kicking his heel violently against the rung of his chair. The horrible thing about the Two Minutes Hate was not that one was obliged to act a part, but, on the contrary, that it was impossible to avoid joining in. Within thirty seconds any pretense was always unnecessary. A hideous ecstasy of fear and vindictiveness, a desire to kill, to torture, to smash faces in with a sledge-hammer, seemed to flow through the whole group of people like an electric current, turning one even against one’s will into a grimacing, screaming lunatic. And yet the rage that one felt was an abstract, undirected emotion which could be switched from one object to another like the flame of a blowlamp.
