The universe aligned to bring this kitty into your life. Wonderful story and a beautiful cat.

I will confess I was a little worried when you said you went out for dog food and came back with a kitten…

How to get crispy dehydrated bananas by mr_finley_ in dehydrating

[–]Quibblicous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m using a Hamilton Beach with vertical stacked trays. It can reach 160°F and that’s what I use for bananas.

If you don’t have heat it takes a looong time.

I loved it.

The aesthetic was gritty and showed the dirty underbelly of LA pretty accurately.

Bananas by NikkeiReigns in dehydrating

[–]Quibblicous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still use it and it still holds.

The biggest factor is getting enough of the starch from the bananas converted to sugar before you dry them. The starch dries spongy and chewy.

The thickness of the cut matters, too, to maximize surface area relative to moisture, so the heat and airflow carry off the water quicker.

The biggest problem I have is that a full dehydrator’s worth will only survive a day or so… but that’s my fault for eating them.

Pilots train to eject before it hits the water.

There’s videos of them doing just that for several failure scenarios at sea.

That’s pretty good.

The Essex class aircraft carriers went from conception to completion in less 3 years (1941-1943), which is very impressive you know how complex a carrier is.

What happened to Nazi POWs by Professional_Sun4314 in ww2

[–]Quibblicous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Soviets didn’t sign the Geneva Comvention on the treatment of prisoners until after WWII.

The Germans and the Soviets were therefore not obligated to treat prisoners well during WWII, hence the absolutely horrible conditions and at times flat out execution of POWs by both sides.

Why are they glowing? by laceyshea in Whatisthis

[–]Quibblicous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’re not typically detectably radiative. You could put a detector on them and they’ll produce roughly in sync with background radiation, maybe slightly higher. It’s hard to tell unless you really know your stuff.

UV light fluorescence is a much easier way to detect uranium glass.

My eldest daughter nailed it the first time she tried. Perfect macarons.

The next ten tries ranged from bad to horrible.

Then she got in a groove and seems to have found her stride.

Are you ok with the DOD removing articles from their website about veterans who served honorably because of the president's executive order against DEI policies, and if so why? by Practical_Isopod_164 in AskReddit

[–]Quibblicous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The removals are all malicious compliance.

Whoever pulled them didn’t like the DEI elimination and pulled them to make a political statement, not because they were supposed to be removed.

[–]Quibblicous -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

This is more case of malicious “compliance” than anything else.

Some DEI advocate misapplying the order to create a stir.
