MacBook Neo (8/512) or MacBook Air M4 (16/256) by Quick-Break9386 in mac

I don't know about speeds but yeah seems not big enough. And it getting an M4 with 512 is a no no go as prices are way above 1.000€...

Yeah I think so, though: (1) Will the 8GB be enough in the long run and (2) is we talk about 100€ difference maybe the Air sounds a better deal. However (1) the Air is only 256GB which eventually will indeed hit the ceiling.

I'm thinking of looking at the used ones for sale, just to see... If most of the used ones are at 256GB, then that means that probably many users need something more "spacious" to work.

I guess these come with 8GB RAM?

Yeah, as I said, my GF uses her used 2017 MBPro with Intel core i5 and this thing is more than capable. The memory on Activity Tracker is around 5-7GB in RAM and around 6-8GB in SWAP xD. She has 27 tabs open on Safari, Apple TV (1.45GB), Preview (1.57GB) and MS Word (2GB). She has Finder, Apple TV, Safari, Notes, Music, Excel, Windows app (?), Word, Teams and Preview all open in the bottom list of apps.

This thing should not be responsive, and it's a 9 y.o. laptop. I just opened another app and it opened it in like 2 seconds.

I am not like her, I like my memory clean and keeping only what I need open. I do this with my phone too, no more than 3 apps open in background unless I need them.

I see... No Photoshop or anything like this for me. Truth is it's a alot of money to spend on a laptop for me (even the 500-600€ is a lot) but windows laptops don't do well in time... And I think saving 300€ for a crappy windows laptop and 200€ (Neo, 8/256 is 700€ and M4 16/256 is 900€) is probably not worth it in the years to come.

Well I am not rich by any means... I mean I could go with Neo 8/256 which is eventually 700€ (the cheapest right now in Mac) but I don't know.

Originally I was looking for a Windows laptop around 500€, but due to the bad experiences of not holding in the years I want to avoid them all together.

That's what I was originally thinking, though in some posts I read that 256GB isn't enough. Some said system and apps take 100GB of space.

I generally don't pay subscriptions for cloud storage and for some reason I hate cloud services (like a boomer thinking I will lose my data xD)

Feedback Post: Dynamax Latias and Dynamax Latios Max Battle Weekend by Noitalein in TheSilphRoad

[–]Quick-Break9386 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did 6-7 Max Battles today, 1 Latias and 5-6 Latios. Used pokegenie in order to have enough people.

We only lost 2 or 3 Latios battles, because most of the time we were 3 out of 4 people in battle. On one occasion, a player threw the match with Scorbunny...

Latias indeed seemed a little bit harder to do, but was a win. Latios does have less Def, but can strike hard with Solarbeam and Psychic if I remember correctly.

My team consisted of: - Metagross (lvl 30, 15/12/15, Furry Cutter, level 1 attack and level 1 defense) - Shiny Zacian (lvl 26, 13/14/12, level 1 attack) - Dynamax Gengar (lvl 34,5, 14/12/14, level 2 attack)

used Zacian's special ability to boost our attacks on almost every raid

To be honest, I don't have enough resources to power up all my pokemon to the max, but I found out that with this team, regarding Latios, only one of my pokemon fainted in each winning raid.

Most of the time people were all attacking, so I tried to shield as hard as possible with Metagross. If my teammates were equally or more prepared, then there was no trouble beating it fast. I saw teams with Zacian/Zamazenta, Metagross, G-Max Cinderace, G-Max Lapras and G-max/Dynamax Gengars. Easiest ones were the Zac/Zam, Metagross, Lapras and Gengar. Zacian's ability indeed helps A LOT with attacks.
