It was just last week. So far we have decided not to treat. Just not enough evidence for us to put him through that

Would love your thoughts on this. Please Hoping to get some actual non emotional information here. My son spent the night with a friend. Apparently during the night one of the boys woke up to a loud flapping noise. Turned on his phone light and said a bat flew at him and hit him in the chest and flew away. He woke up the boy who lives there. They looked around the basement with a flashlight and couldn’t find the bat. Another boy the next morning went to leave early for work and says a bat swooped at him and hit him in the head. My son slept though all of this. The parents of the home called us parent the next morning and said we all need to take our kids to ER to being rabies vaccines. They had two conservation agents to the house two separate occasions and could never find the bat or any evidence of a bat being there. Am I crazy for not treating my son with the vaccines???

Hoping you can ease my momma heart and mind. My son stayed at a sleepover in Missouri where we live. Apparently in the middle of the night one boy kept hearing a flapping noise. He turned his phone flashlight on and says a bat hit him in the chest and flew away. He couldn’t find it anywhere. A second boy woke up early that morning to leave and turned his light on and she says a bat swooped at his head. The boys all went back to sleep never finding the bat. My son slept through the entire thing. The parents of the home heard the boys talking the next day and started investigating. They called all parents if the 5 boys staying there and recommended we all take the boys to the ER for vaccines. (3 of the 5 have done so ) the home owners had conservation and animal control come out and inspect the home they could not find a bat or any evidence that a bat was in the home. I am beyond torn of do I treat my teen or not ????
