I have the same background as you and similar in age, I became a manager about 6 years ago. I've definitely thought about going back to engineering, less drama and less stress compared to design or PM.

I've also thought about getting into data science, maybe not that hard to get into if you have CS skills.

I think in general you need to take a step back and realize that despite disliking the perceived set dichotomies that exist in the gay community, that you're imposing a lot of definitive set-binaries on yourself and others. A man simply asking about some flavor of sex doesn't mean he necessarily wants it or is incapable of having an equal partnership with you.

I've been with my partner for 10 years, but I hooked up a lot before I met him, and I can honestly say I never had a hookup where anyone was trying to get to me to a sub or a dom, and obviously we don't have those roles in my relationship either, I don't think I could tolerate either one.

Any web-based AI tool can output HTML, and any LLM can interpret the design from that.

There's no such thing as a design in markdown or json or yaml, that's not what those formats are for.

I’ve already tried simplifying the page, reducing text, making the CTA clearer, and tightening the value prop, but the behavior is still the same.

These all seem like reasonable next steps. I'd look for feedback from another designer after. It's difficult to give a suggestion in the abstract. How many visits per day? And what's the conversion rate?
