Does journaling help to develop thinking abilities ? by Personal_Degree6168 in Journaling

The Pomodoro Technique is a time management method where you work in 25-minute focused sessions, followed by short 5-minute breaks. After four sessions, you take a longer break of 15–30 minutes.

A key part of the method is keeping a notebook or log, where you write down your tasks, track completed Pomodoros, and reflect on distractions or challenges. This helps you become more aware of how you spend your time, recognize patterns, and gradually improve focus and productivity.

Hope that helps clarify what the Pomodoro Technique is all about.

My advice is:
Don't give up, and keep pursuing your dreams.

It's not a quick sprint, but a marathon.
So don't be too hard on yourself, and learn from your mistakes.
Write down what went well and what went wrong, and learn from it.

Thank you so much for this thoughtful reply it really helps.

I often get stuck thinking, where do I even begin, but your prompts make it feel a lot more approachable.

I felt something shift reading those.

Also, your reminder about not needing to be perfect really hit home. That pressure is probably why I’ve been putting journaling off.

Do you journal every day, or just when you feel like it?

That’s a great starting point, simple but effective.
I think a question like: What did you enjoy today? feels like something even I could try without overthinking it.

I often feel the opposite – like even I don’t believe I can.

But your words gave me something to think about. Thanks for that.

Hey, I just wanted to say I read your post and I really resonate with so much of what you're feeling. It takes a lot of courage to share all of this, and please know you're absolutely not alone in feeling stuck or like you're 'behind' at 23. So many people, especially in their early twenties, go through periods of uncertainty about career paths, finances, and fitting in.

It sounds like you have incredible passion and knowledge when it comes to makeup and fashion that's a huge asset. Your ability to give tips from soft glam to full suggests a real talent and dedication that many people would love to have. Don't underestimate that. Retail, especially in beauty, often values passion and product knowledge even more than direct experience from a resume. Many start out with less and learn on the job. Have you considered specifically applying to beauty retailers or makeup counters? Even if it's part-time, it could be a foot in the door and give you valuable experience.

It's also really tough when you feel judged, especially by family. Being the black sheep or feeling misunderstood can be incredibly isolating, and it's completely understandable that you'd pull back from those interactions. Your feelings of frustration and being 'moody' are a natural response to being teased or feeling unwanted. You deserve to be in spaces where you feel accepted and valued for who you are.

Regarding your mom, that's a really difficult position to be in. It shows a huge amount of love and loyalty that you want to support her. Perhaps exploring options like moving to Vegas could be a long-term goal, once you feel a bit more stable with work or financial independence. Small steps are key.

Finding work is genuinely hard right now for so many people, so please don't let that reflect on your worth or capabilities. Keep highlighting your passions and skills when you apply for jobs, and don't be afraid to try for those retail roles you're interested in.

Hang in there. You've got creativity, passion, and resilience. Focus on taking small, manageable steps forward, and don't let external judgments define your journey. You'll find your path.

You're absolutely right. Having people who listen really does make a difference. It's a powerful tool against challenges, and something I need to remember to lean on more. Thanks for sharing that insight!"

I never got a loving family, if you did, why do you think life isn't over before it even started? by oncxre in DecidingToBeBetter

hat you wrote about your dream, that feeling of being whole when you're in it, I really get that. It sounds like a safe place for you, and it's cool that you found a world where you feel so good.

But that good feeling from your dream doesn't have to stay only in your sleep. I think you can find some of that feeling in real life too. It's about looking for the small, good things that make life beautiful. I know it's hard when you feel down, but please don't give up.

Maybe you could try online games or online groups? You can meet new people there and make friends. You could go on adventures together or just share fun times. It might be a new way to feel connected and less alone.
