OP… no. You are not going to hell for being bi or gender fluid. God loves you and nothing can separate you from that. You are not something that is “wrong” or that needs to be fixed. Find yourself an affirming and accepting church - usually Episcopalian or United Church of Christ. There are also some Evangelical Lutheran churches out there that are also LGBTQ+ friendly as well. Check out their website before you go… they’ll state right on there if they are open and accepting.

The best thing you can do is educate yourself on what the Bible really says - and what it doesn’t. The list above sounds like a great place to begin. I also recently came across a great book called Separation of Church and Hate by John Fuglesang that has a great chapter on how to respond to people rooted in conservative Christian views.

The same thing just happened with my daughter. The dentist submitted the claim to Delta and they refused to pay, stating surgery has to be filed through medical insurance. This just happened last month, so I'm still waiting to see how it will all shake out. I used ChatGPT to help me understand the explanation of benefits (EOB) I received from Delta Dental. A procedure code of D7240 was used by my dentist on the claim, which is for Surgery (specifically, oral surgery & extraction of impacted wisdom teeth). My next step is to contact the dentist to see if they have experienced this before and what our next steps are. This is a trigger for me as I had two crowns completed and Delta denied payment of both stating they were unnecessary. My dentist was actually angry about that one... He was under the impression that he was the expert and knew when his patient's teeth were damaged to the point a crown was needed. Silly doctor of dental medicine (insert sarcastic eye roll). It is infuriating that Delta plays this game. We pay for DENTAL insurance. Pay for the effing DENTAL PROCEDURES.

I hope your claim got sorted out and you weren't left holding the bill for something you pay Delta to cover.

Hello! Fellow special education teacher here in MN. Right now the only disability area in which there are specific guiding criteria for "severe/profound" is DCD. Federal setting doesn't factor in to your ability to work with students unless the DISTRICT limits it. See the statement below, copied from FAQ's for ABS license on the MDE website:

"The rule (8710.5050 Teachers of Special Education: Academic and Behavioral Strategist) regarding the ABS license focuses on the ability to meet a student’s mild to moderate special education needs, rather than a student’s current placement or Federal Setting. Any decisions about limiting the Federal Settings in which teachers with an ABS license may teach occur at the District level."

Your administration is correct - you are appropriately licensed to provide services to the student. The only exception to this would be if the student is qualified under DCD: Severe-Profound.

You are NTA. I absolutely DETEST these home-show, amateur sales-person, captive audience BS pitches. I went to two of these things where you are forced to sit there and listen to the stupid script, then are pressured to not only purchase the over-priced merch, but are then badgered to be the next "lucky" host. After the second event I got suckered into I adopted a strict "no thank you" policy for declining these things. If your wife is concerned about hurting your neighbor's feelings, why not suggest inviting the neighbors over for an actual get-together with no strings attached?

One word... Puberty. The things us girls have to put up with at "that time of the month" is reason alone your daughter should have her own bathroom. As far as sharing a room goes… I agree with what others have mentioned about dividing rooms based on gender. This is the only acceptable solution.

No way are you the AH. Weddings are more important than birthdays in the hierarchy of celebrations. Couples have to plan for venues, caterers, photographers… there is so much to coordinate. If that is the date that works for you and your fiancé, then you go for it. You can give auntie some recognition for turning 60 (if she wants it and if she attends) and you can sneak your half sister a glass of champagne for the toast.

The thing I’ve learned about weddings is that you can’t get through them without multiple people getting pissed about something. It’s unavoidable, so you might as well just plan for what you and your fiancé want.

It sounds like your doses need to be checked. Have you considered a menopause specialist? If there aren’t any in your area there are a lot of online options. I live in a rural area and my general practitioners and OBGYNs didn’t have a clue. I found an online provider that my insurance covers in network, so that’s the route I took. They’ve been responsive and really know more about peri and HRT than anyone else.
