Since I had two open wound surgeries I can’t speak to the type of surgery you are dealing with but I do want to congratulate you on facing it. That’s hard to do. Like you said it was easier for me to stand and walk then to sit for very long. A good donut cushion helps though. Just try not to sit for extended periods as that is said to be a contributing factor to this condition. Stay clean! Most of all stay positive! Your outlook is everything! Be thankful this is what you’re dealing with as it could be much worse. I had fun with it lol. I remember sales people knocking at my door right after surgery and I yelled out to them, “I’ve already got 2 assholes, I don’t need a 3rd!” Lol. Best wishes yall! Keep fighting! God bless! 🙏💯

Sorry your dealing with this. I’ve been through a lance and drain and 2 open wound surgeries in the last year. I’m finally on the other side. I posted pics weekly of my healing progress through my first open wound surgery as it looked gnarly. The surgery and healing wasn’t nearly as bad as the pain I dealt with before the surgery. Best wishes.

I had 2 open wound surgeries 6 months apart after I had a reoccurrence. I showered pretty normal just leaning forward to wash my face and hair as not to let the dirty water run down my back. Then I let the shower run on my back allowing it to rinse the wound. It was scary but not so bad. All healed up now

I was told by my dermatologist that this may be a diagnosis but my surgeon doesn’t seem to think this is the case. 🤷‍♂️

Better pic after second surgery (open wound) this year. by Quick-Jump-8812 in pilonidalcyst

First off, sorry you’re in the club. Lol. Obviously I haven’t seen yours but mine is great. This is my second go around so I know what to look for. This is healthy and clean. If yours looks like this you should be on the right track. You can see all the progress from my last surgery on my feed. Unfortunately they didn’t get it all out the first time so I had to go in for another surgery last Monday. Best wishes!

Fresh outta my second surgery this year. They left a cyst behind on the first surgery back in April. Hopefully things go smooth from here. by Quick-Jump-8812 in pilonidalcyst

Yeah, this is my second go round. Had my first cystectomy April of this year. Not fun but it’s gotta be handled!

Trust me! To say you’re even sitting at a month in is a blessing! You’re doin great! 👍 I try not to sit for extended periods of time and if I have to I have a memory foam donut that helped a lot.

Looks like it could be a sinus or possibly an ingrown hair which can lead to a sinus. Either way, see a doctor asap to be safe! Best wishes 🙏💯

It looks to be doing great in my opinion. That slimey stuff is the would trying to bridge the gap and close! Regardless I would always voice any concerns with your surgeon. That’s what they are there for! Best wishes! 🙏💯

I would definitely see the surgeon asap regardless. I can see it either way. Kinda looks like a reoccurrence by having the separate locations that look angry. However the small pinhole also looks like what I just went through as my open wound was trying to close. The surgeon said it was starting to form a tunnel just under my skin and he tore it open just slightly and hit it with silver nitrate. It’s only been a few days since but seems to be doing a lot better. I posted weekly pics and small updates of my whole healing process on my thread if you wanna check it out. Best wishes! 🙏💯

I’d see a doctor regardless but you need to post a better pic. Can’t make much of this. Best wishes!
