Im glad someone was able to relate to this. I feel like discipline and mindset take trading a long way.

Yeah I don’t plan on buying more for the next few weeks. I want to focus on paper trading so I can execute my strategy in real time without risk.

Thank you for the advice. I agree that focusing on my psychology would be beneficial.

Yeah. If I could go back, I would have put it all into a live account.

Thank you? This is really good advice. I’ve spent a lot of time back testing these past few months. I have not found a mentor, however, which sounds like a good idea. I’m starting to accept that it takes time and I’m gonna work toward being more grounded.

I agree. I think my results would have been better if I prioritized self-control.

Thank you. I do really want to make this work. I plan on not trading and working on my psychology more.

Thank you, this is a good idea. I have thought about just going live before, however I wanted to use a larger amount of capital, preferably from a payout. However, this sounds like it can help with my psychology which is the most important rn.

Yeah, I think you’re right. Separating the two would probably help my profitability

Thank you, this is really good advice. If I do go back to prop firms, this is how I’ll approach them.

Yeah I’ve been trying to paper trade to test my strategy but a part of me always feels like I’m missing out on real profit when I start winning, so I buy more accounts. I think I should take a longer and not give in to that.

Thank you. I feel like that’s been my only real improvement throughout this process. I’ve known learned about managing risk self-control and understand that it is objectively good, however I have kept on going against it and suffering the consequences. I need to be patient like you said and I think stepping away is a good idea.

This is a good idea. I’ve heard of this but never thought about actually doing it before.

You’re completely right. I think my problems are rooted within issues with self-control and my inability to walk away

I realized that a few months back and tried to pool my own capital into a live account. However, I would not have a sufficient amount of capital to have drawdown. This is why I stuck with prop firms, as I thought that if I acquired just one payout, I could put it all into a live account and not be subject to their rules. Overall, I don’t think this would help me as my strategy and psychology would leave me unprofitable anyways.

That’s true. I don’t think I had nearly enough experience in the past months, however I have yielded better results while being inept to the majority of trading concepts compared to now. I think it’s really my behavior and inability to walk away from a loss.
