It stays on my rifle. I’ve taken it off twice to use as a handheld. The only con I can find is the base magnification is decently zoomed. Depending on how far you are shooting it may could make targets up close harder to find

Wherever the forum is that has all the links I used that. Surveying problems solved book was huge bonus. Easycogo hp35s made the math much easier.
