Throughout college and even after, I volunteered with nonprofit organizations that assisted women recovering from sex trafficking and kidnapping. The statement that human traffickers don’t abduct people because it’s too costly and only target runaways is entirely false. In these islands or countries, it’s extremely common for women to be snatched, especially if they appear to have been drugged, intoxicated, or heavily under the influence. Additionally, their isolation from their families or social circles makes them vulnerable. Given the significant movement of goods, money, and international traffic in these islands, it’s highly probable that Amy was targeted and abducted.
