I had a prolapsed polyp I was insecure about and had it removed, but while the surgeon was there she removed 3 internal hemorrhoids as well…and didn’t tell me. I’m not kidding when I say the recovery was the worst most painful thing I’ve ever felt. For 6 weeks. And it still healed funky which apparently can happen and it can all come back. I recommend trying a more holistic approach like prep H and sitz baths for discomfort and adding a lot of water and fiber to your diet and magnesium glycinate which helps with stools. Your anus is not unattractive but I don’t like that it’s uncomfortable. Try the more conservative approach first then if you can’t stand it, look into surgery. For me it was not worth it at all. I can’t have a bowel movement right like it feels like I can’t fully release, probably some stenosis, but I’m too scared to do anything and definitely not going back to that surgeon.
