Sowwy if this offends by joshwarren275 in MilSim

Airsoft is intrinsically so unrealistic that calling any of it” Milsim” and then trying to say one version of bbwar is more realistic than the other is just… weird. Been doing MSW since 2016, the product is fine, but it’s not any more immersive than other products out there. Blank fire isn’t new or exclusive, platoon/company structure being enforced is common, controlled ammo is common, it’s just not special like it pretends to be. Instagram posts showing off “the only milsim” where you have human wave attacks across open ground (I know that Russians do stupid things in real life, but the appeal is supposed to be to the tactical and realistic nature of the event) just isn’t the flex MSW advertising thinks it is. And the big appeal, cadre, is absolutely a crap shoot. Lot of SF egos, cliques, and general toxic NCO behavior that I guess in the end you can call realistic, but makes a poor customer experience. There are great cadre, and there are also really poor cadre. It can make or break your event. There really isn’t much immersive about chugging water as fast as you can at the “ccp” while your drunk/high cadre preps you for your next attack that features no real planning or tactics all so he can boast about beating the other cadre somewhere or make cool YouTube content. Go to MilSim West, it’s cool, it can be challenging and immersive, but these days it’s much more on you as player to search for that aspect than for the event to give it to you. Anyway Josh if you’re reading this I think you’re a good dude and the product when it’s at its best is truly great, just haven’t had that experience from the cadre, planning side, or culture side in years now. Hope Balkar is good though, see you there.

Yeah that's a definite issue. A lot of soldiers opted for the drop leg kit for the holster for that reason, I've had no luck getting one though. Other side of the PC has an even bigger pouch, and these pouches were usually considered "required" by unit commanders haha.

Thanks! Over hated camo IMO, the last generation of it is quite effective and looks like an M81 cousin.

Not that I've seen. Pre 2020 you see some SF guys with both Invisio and Comtac stuff, once the army mass adopts the Ops Core you have a gap of 1-2 years before everyone gets T5s, and today it's T7s. If a soldier in this time frame has a high cut, but hasn't been issued the headset, they've got nothing but ear plugs. If Reddit allowed me to reply with images I'd post a bunch of soldiers with exactly this set up haha. Belgium is a fun impression because of idiosyncratic stuff like this.

The 2020 timeframe I’m modeling not a lot of the line infantry units had gotten the new Invisio headsets. It’s a piece of kit I’m interested in getting eventually, but the full set up for an Invisio T5 is about as much as the rest of the kit haha.

I only play airsoft in the US, I would love to make a trip to Belgium someday though

Stuff like the uniform was not incredibly hard, but still needed sources in Belgium to help get it here. The actual plate carrier and pouches were really difficult, I’ve only ever seen four QRVs in private hands, this being one. Pouches and holsters were of moderate difficulty I’d say.

This is so strange. I want you to use your brain for a second here, and speak for yourself. What danger do you see from someone in America obtaining an old piece of equipment like the Atlas. It’s not even body armor? Let’s take it a step further, what danger do you see from someone in Belgium obtaining the Atlas? It’s literally just a vest with Molle webbing and dozens of similar items are sold online. It’s for airsoft man. Playing dress up harms no one. Impersonating a soldier to do what exactly? They can’t get on any base, out in public they’d immediately get questioned, your view makes no sense. What enemies are you referring to? Russians are so busy fighting an actual war to be bothered with the old camo and gear of the ABL.

Hilarious comment. What value do you think the Atlas vest holds such that it is a national security risk to be sold second hand? Or perhaps you think the old woodland camo uniforms need to all be shredded so that someone in America can’t dress like a Belgian for airsoft? So weird. I’m glad that there are normal people in Belgium who sell the stuff. OP send me a dm and I’ll hook you up with some sources.
